A horrific terrorist attack and potential mass casualty disaster unfolded in the skies today.

A pilot aboard a Flydubai flight carrying Israelis from Dubai to Tel Aviv tried to seize control of the aircraft and crash it.

The co-pilot fought back and was wounded in a violent struggle inside the cockpit. The aircraft transmitted the emergency code associated with unlawful interference and then plunged approximately 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds.

Imagine being inside that plane.

Passengers screaming. Blood inside the aircraft. Families believing they were seconds away from death.

People started praying.

But passengers and crew fought back.

They helped overpower the terrorist, regain control of the aircraft, and save the wounded pilot as the plane was diverted for an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

Around 150 people boarded a routine flight to Tel Aviv this morning.

For terrifying moments, they believed they were about to die.

Instead, courage prevailed.

150 people are alive because people aboard that aircraft refused to surrender.
