That reaction wasn't a celebration of 343's work; it was an indictment of how much they had changed and how badly they had lost the essence of Halo.

The applause wasn't for 343, it was for a sound they didn't create and an art style they didn't invent. That moment should have filled them with shame, not pride.

When I watched it live, that moment brought a tear to my eye, it flooded my mind with childhood memories. That was Bungie's glory.

This is why you don't needlessly change the identity of an iconic franchise.
