Hayes: If Republicans hold the senate, it seems essentially assured that both men will announce their retirement. Donald Trump will replace them with ideological zealots and Susan Collins will hem and haw about how concerned she is, and then she will vote to confirm them anyway, as she did with Brett Kavanaugh.
Platner got married 2 years ago and immediately started cheating on his wife. If you don’t adjust your priors on the plausibility of him not knowing what his Nazi tattoo was based on this then you have a degree of naïveté that will lead to relationships with people like Platner
I mean fine political answer but on the merits he is not fucked up because of his service. He loved his time in the service. He got to kill people which is exactly what he wanted and he liked it so much he repeatedly volunteered to go back and do it again.
James Carville on Graham Platner: “Maybe we need a combat veteran on that Senate who is fucked up. Who every time these assholes go to vote for another war, Susan Collins voted for all of them, maybe they need to look at this guy before they start sending young people off to fight wars and see what the consequence of it is”
@Socdem_Michael Encouraging democrats who don’t support scandal ridden candidates to switch parties seems like a counter productive thing to do if control of congress is your goal.
It seems you just really like the Nazi tattoo guy above all else?
i don't really understand the sort of leftist who believes that any social moderation for swing district candidates on policy issues is evil fascism but saying and doing misogynist things makes you a true working class hero
@colorblindk1d@jessesingal I think trump 2.0 is very clearly much worse when it comes to nominee quality, with blind loyalty the utmost consideration.
So yeah, unfortunately.
I’d like him to drop out and be replaced though.
@colorblindk1d@jessesingal control of the chamber is more important than any one vote, she goes along with Trumps court picks which is the longest lasting damage being done.
@shanewallick@DerekPederson3 no one actually believes this. Try explaining to a couple that just had a miscarriage that they should not be sad because their fetus had no moral worth.
There's no reason to think a fetus has zero moral worth other than "I want to justify abortion."
Being a senator, Supreme Court justice, or in any other position of high power and influence isn't a human right, and it's very reasonable to demand higher standards of behavior in those roles than we do for random mechanics, bank tellers, and project managers.
@neoliberal_hack@zmichalo39@Socdem_Michael These guys are delusional copers. Of course he fucking knew. He just thought it was cool and edgy.
The whole point is he doesn't have good judgement, not that he's actually a nazi.
