@bcherny Feels like Cowork UI has gotten optimized not for human users, but for agents to be able to do more, 24/7, from anywhere. Some work tasks are safer when they are contained in a local session and only run while the laptop lid remains open.

@bcherny In Jan you introduced Cowork & showed the beauty of Claude working w/ local files. Y’all have since destroyed what made Cowork great in the first place. Cowork UX/UI was better in Jan, even as it’s become “more capable” over time.

@bcherny I like Cowork - it’s THE reason I signed up for Claude in the first place. I’d like to keep using it, but it seems like the team is actively eliminating Cowork by rolling its features into Chat. Work with LOCAL FILES should have a separate mode. Cowork WAS that mode.

@bcherny A total bait-n-switch - now everything runs in the cloud, Cowork merged inside of Chats, it’s impossible to select when to use Cowork and when to use Chat, and UI is fully unclear when a session has access to local folders or not. And no on/off toggle for these changes.
