It’s very funny how debt is totally forgivable when it's tied to a failed business or a hedge fund. But the moment it's for school or a hospital bill suddenly it says something about your character.
Someone can certainly *make* a billion dollars. That’s not the same thing as earning.
Growing fast and disrupting markets also often means chasing and wielding market power, political influence, and scale.
Take Airbnb. They heavily lobby politicians against passing housing laws to protect working class residents because it’s bad for their business model.
Airbnb could not exist at its current scale and size without the housing market destabilizations, displacements, and exploits that are supercharging the evictions of working people everywhere from Puerto Rico to Jackson Hole.
Now young people are planning for a future where they will never be able to afford to own a home while others have 20 and live off renting it out to them at extortionate rates with zero protections. Yes, a tiny amount of people can make billions of dollars doing that. And millions of everyday Americans are bearing the cost.
Do *not* listen to this video. The university authorities have *condemned* it and urges you *not* to listen to it and *not* to share it in case you cause others to listen to it.
Justice Kagan:
"I dissent. The Voting Rights Act is—or, now more accurately, was—'one of the most consequential, efficacious, and amply justified exercises of federal legislative power in our Nation's history.' It was born of the literal blood of Union soldiers and civil rights marchers. It ushered in awe-inspiring change, bringing this Nation closer to fulfilling the ideals of democracy and racial equality. And it has been repeatedly, and overwhelmingly, reauthorized by the people's representatives in Congress. Only they have the right to say it is no longer needed—not the Members of this Court. I dissent, then, from this latest chapter in the majority's now-completed demolition of the Voting Rights Act."
NEW: Democrats hold a supermajority in California yet they just blocked a single-payer healthcare bill because like the national party the state parties are corrupt & controlled by corporate interests.
Voting blue does not bring democracy. It solidifies the capitalist oligarchy.
No Kings proves the size of a protest is meaningless if there are no policy demands and direct threats to power. This was a parade to funnel people from the red capitalist party to the blue capitalist party to ensure the source of our problems, capitalism, remains unthreatened.
there is absolutely no political strategy behind the "no kings day" protests. no concrete demands, no organizing to build on, nothing. it's the hollowness of liberal protest amplified to the max
For the first time in 70 years the UN broke from consensus for the global reaffirmation of women’s rights. 37 Nations in favor & 1 against. Of course that one against the reaffirmation of women’s rights was the United States because of language that included:
-diversity, equity & inclusion
-the effects of climate change on women
- regulations for AI
-the definition of gender
- the reproductive health rights of women&girls
Don’t ever try to tell me this administration cares about women & girls.

This is oligarchy.
Blood cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, HPV breakthroughs all this week! All outside of the United States.
Makes you wonder if maybe the US was the fucking problem.
Consent obtained under threat of starvation isn’t meaningful consent. That’s coercion. Any man who has sex with a woman who will die if she doesn’t is a rapist. Coercion is a recognised component of rape in law, ethics, and history, whether it makes you uncomfortable or not.
We need to stop regarding Democrats as ineffective public advocates
& instead treat them as the violent collaborators of fascism they so evidently are
