Congratulations to PD's Kobe, Paco and Xander who have all completed their 4-week training course and officially licenced as Firearms Support Dogs. These dogs can now deploy with Armed Officers throughout Scotland to locate and detain dangerous individuals and #KeepPeopleSafe

Last night a wanted male made off from officers a number of times & continued disappearing into the night. His luck run out when we deployed PD Ziggy who tracked him through an alleyway before bringing the game to a conclusion as he found him hiding #gameover #arrested 👏

TPD Milo’s hyper excitable almost hectic temperament has meant a lot of hard work putting in the general control and the impulse control he will need if he is to become a working Police dog. But we are getting there. Up until now he has only done grass tracks. I like him a lot.👍

🐾 MEET RETIRED POLICE DOG BALI 🐾

Bali is almost 12 years old and served with Avon and Somerset Police as a General Purpose Police Dog for around nine years.

During her career, Bali supported a wide range of operational duties including locating missing people, recovering evidence, supporting firearms operations and tracking offenders.

In April 2024, Bali retired and began a completely new chapter of life as a family dog.

Today, Bali enjoys countryside walks, scent games, car rides and, most importantly, her beloved tennis balls! 🎾

Over the next few days we’ll be sharing more of Bali’s incredible journey from police dog to much-loved family companion.

Thank you for your service, Bali. 💙🐾
