@combatconvos@Grabaka_Hitman@fenoxsky That's true, but for the most part a soccer kick isn't going to end a fight any quicker than regular ground and pound at that point. It just causes a ton of unnecessary extra damage for no reason.
@combatconvos@Grabaka_Hitman@fenoxsky To me grounded knees are strikes that take skill and timing to use effectively, but a soccer kick basically only works when the grounded fighter is already not able to defend themself. It's just way more damage that doesn't contribute to actually winning a competitive fight.
@blessedcasual @BleakSweatsuit 2. Making your name so big that you don't need the UFC anymore just means you probably aren't fighting anymore. With very few exceptions, if you continue fighting your career prospects become worse.
@blessedcasual @BleakSweatsuit Two things with this.
1. "If I don't want to do it I don't have to." That's right! And it's why the best athletes rarely choose to do MMA, there are just so many better paying, less risky sports. That's how we get the current HW division.
@Whateverrzuu7@benfowlkesMMA For sure, but it's still unprofessional coming from the biggest promotion in the sport. And it speaks to a pattern of behavior. How many times does this happen to fighters on the undercard who don't get three months? Short notice fights happen, but they aren't at their best then
@MigClass Enough rikishi got enough tries at him over the last year to figure out how to counter his A game. But young Danny Sumo still has a deep bag of tricks and plenty of time to reach the top!
@MVMNTMartials I was on the edge of my seat for the whole fight. It wasn't a barn burner like I wanted, but damn if it wasn't nerve wracking to watch Max spend 20 minutes inside the jaw of a crocodile ๐ฌ
