I think we need to be honest and say that schools are no longer just for education. We are a social service, providing food, clothes, mental health care, housing and financial advice, money for transport and childcare.
We need a framework that reflects this reality @Ofstednews
The leading causes of death in the U.K. - dementia, heart disease, cancer, stroke - are all age related. If you are extraordinarily healthy, and lucky, you’ll live to 100 and probably get dementia - the most costly condition of all.
So this doesn’t make sense.
Prince Harry: “Democracy fails when your press fails to scrutinise and hold the government accountable, and instead choose to get into bed with them so they can ensure the status quo.”
Say it louder! Harry is telling the truth about the press and Tories and I am HERE FOR IT.
Cardiff Cops have always lied, from the Cardiff Three in 88 to Mohamud Hassan in 21. Imagine anyone else getting caught lying to grieving parents about their dead kids: they’d be finished. Not this shower though. Up Ely. Stay safe out there https://t.co/WkIXrYbBhG

It’s times like this I question why teachers are flocking to the Middle East in their droves. I mean, who would ever want good wages, no tax, free accommodation, fab CPD, well behaved students, world class facilities, free private child education, great weather and low crime?
Today I donated £3,000 from my MP’s salary to the Nottingham @NEUnion strike fund.
This is part of my pledge to take home £35,000 a year after tax and give the rest to local causes.
Teachers are fighting for the future of our education. I’m proud to support them.
Today is the biggest strike day in decades.
Teachers, junior doctors, civil servants, university staff, Coventry Amazon workers, London Underground staff.
700,000+ workers on strike, fighting for fair pay and a better deal.
Victory to the workers!
Here’s my payslip as a first year doctor in 2005, next to a first year doctor colleague’s in 2023. 18 years later, their take home salary is less than mine was. I lived for free in hospital accommodation and had a fraction of their student loan.

Last nights vote on the vile "Illegal Migration Bill" was a Tory victory.
@Keir_Starmer didn't vote.
The leader of the supposed opposition didn't bother voting on one of the most insidious piece of legislation to pass through the house in decades.
@UKLabour are a joke.
If I was worried about people comparing me to 1930s Germany, my next move probably wouldn't be to shut down all criticism on the national broadcasting service
Qatar allowed the BBC and Gary Lineker to berate them on international TV, the BBC didn’t even broadcast the closing or opening ceremony of the World Cup.
The same BBC won’t allow Lineker to tweet about British human rights abuses.
Qatar has more freedom of speech than the UK.
