Sunak framing getting people off disability benefits as a “moral mission” is a Victorian dog whistle. It frames being able to work as a virtue and being too sick to as a moral failing. It suggests the solution is, not structural change, but disabled people trying harder.

@neilmcrowther It makes me deeply upset to know that people that meet him now won't get to know him as I do. Of course, that's still alive through memories and stories.
But I look at what I think is to come with despair, because that is all we're ever told.
@neilmcrowther I try to ask him what he wants, and for now my mum is around to provide the support he might need. He needs a lot more direction with cooking, and has lost a lot of confidence. But as a friend said to me once, we should embrace people as they change.
@simonminty Is this for Motability? I had an idea I'd like to raise with them. I'm looking to get a recumbent tricycle, but they are prohibitively expensive. Sometimes to the tune of a small car's cost. Maybe Motability could provide an option to get a trike, with mobility component of PIP.
I have temporarily become a wheelchair user for long distances, or a lot of walking over one day. It's been amazing on holiday to have extra freedom.
Sadly, it also came with a rite of passage. A total stranger pushed me without my consent.
#A11y question: We have a VI student joining in Sept and I found their tutor worrying about how to audio describe our video materials. Any ideas on tools to rocket boost that process? #accessibility@donasarkar@jennylayfluffy
@munkyle It seems to be happening with increased frequency since my back started hurting. No exact cause of injury. A short distance of walking and it happens. Takes 3 days to reset.
Has anyone with Cerebral Palsy, or similar, had it where your hip feels like it has ever so slightly moved out of place? Not a full dislocation. Just pain and discomfort with every step. Also got back pain.
Any tips to fix are welcome.
