NEWS: Tesla has revealed that their vehicle fleet experienced just one vehicle fire per 155 million miles driven, compared to 19 million for the US average.
This means that @Tesla vehicle fires are 8.1x less likely than the U.S. average. Tesla vehicles are comparatively even less likely to be involved in a fire event than these numbers suggest, because Tesla's data includes fire events that are caused by structure fires, wildfires, arson, and other causes unrelated to the vehicle, whereas the NFPA data excludes any fires where a structure is involved.
All this is according to new 2023 data just released by Tesla (the most recent data year).
