Things are FAR from perfect, but TBH I’m not celebrating an ALP victory but rather the complete repudiation of Dutton & the Libs.
Australia has given Albo & the ALP another chance to do right, they better not squander it.

@thevalsmob statement on Premier @JacintaAllanMP announcement of a premature review into Victorian Bail laws which is proof that her Government cares more about polling numbers than keeping our communities safe. #SpringSt#bail@yoorrookjc

"everyone will have to go through age verification process ", "Yes" said Labor Jenny McAllister
Albanese's Social media ban requires everyone's Age verification by Labor before you can access social media.
You will need Labors permission to access your accounts

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese was set to brief Congress today on her latest findings from Gaza. But in a last-minute twist, pressure from “higher-ups” led to the cancellation. The halls of Congress should echo with voices of truth and accountability, not fear and censorship. Israel’s actions in Gaza deserve scrutiny under international law, and it’s unacceptable that those exposing these realities are silenced. Our gratitude goes out to the Congressional staffers who were ready to hear from the UN Special Rapporteur about Gaza.
“Do you know how it feels to stand here while your people are being slaughtered and starved to death, to explain why your people are worthy of being saved..to sit here in the same Hall as those who have called your people human animals?”
Silence from Australian media on this massive report documenting evidence of Israel’s genocide. Silence from Australian politicians. They’re all too busy talking about Qantas flight upgrades.
'Australian news outlets...have repeatedly claimed the country is in the grip of the worst youth crime wave in history. These claims are contradicted by official data sources that show youth crime has plummeted in every state and territory...' https://t.co/ADv5N5dm9E
Our people remain overpoliced, overincarcerated and dying in custody. There has been at least 3 Aboriginal deaths in custody in Victoria since the Yoorrook Justice Report was published. This is the ultimate price our people pay for government inaction. https://t.co/MDMTUy3mSF
Congratulations to @Besiroglu_Ali for being awarded the Stephen Myall Award for his ongoing commitment to social justice issues and inspiring others. @thevalsmob is excited that he is returning in 2025 as we continue our commitment towards achieving justice for our communities

I wrote a piece for The Conversation on the protest permit debate in Australia: Should you need a permit to protest? Here’s why that’s a bad idea (and might be unlawful) https://t.co/gB4fTpWKPh via @ConversationEDU
You cannot bomb, kill or militarily occupy your way to peace and security.
Today more than ever we call for freedom, equality and justice for all between the river and the sea.
Thank you @NareldaJacobs10 for having me on this afternoon
Peter Dutton is a gronk.
These protests have been happening every Sunday for a year in Victoria.
We know police violence is bad enough under the Allan government.
Shame on Dutton for trying to escalate police violence against protestors on our streets even further.
