You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold."
So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house?
I didn't sell it, didn't cash out and didn't even make a profit.
But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year.
Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.
@PhilipProudfoot@gavinmoolman Out of who's pocket. Not mine. Take the money from California failed high-speed rail. Seems like it could be used better considering that project isn't benefiting anyone.
69% of Americans support my bill to give the public a 50% ownership stake in AI companies.
The American people understand that AI must work for ALL of us, and not just make a handful of Big Tech billionaires even richer.
@shanaka86 This is so costly and bad for the environment. Plus spcx has the edge with potential planetary landing. Those who support China may as well put the shackles on their own hands.
@DemonFramed@Alexjonesbible So your solution is let the critical infrastructure crash and at the same time blast the people that make your job possible. You have zero common sense. Blue collar should charge you 3x rate.
@DemonFramed Spoken like a true soft hands. Also, everyone I know in trades makes a min. of 80k. Most own homes and many have stay at home wives and kids. Trades are the American dream. pathway that's left. Plus you don't have to work in an office with women, which is wroth it in itself.
@ThomasAlxDmy Need compute dollars? What happens when Ai data centers are in space. Is thinking 5,10,20,50 years ahead so difficult. Or is it the micro steps along the way you dont understand.
We have Universal Healthcare in Canada.
Let's pretend by the time you turn 24, you're making the average Canadian income and stay at the average until you're 40.
In those 16 years, youll have paid anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000 for your healthcare no matter what, through taxation.
And then because of extremely long wait times, you fly to the U.S. anyways and pay for your elective surgeries or specialists.
Canadians are 4x more likely than Americans to have an adverse outcomes in time sensitive scenarios. And financially, a higher percentage of Canada's population has to claim personal bankruptcy per year than that of America, largely due to our high taxation.
Let's put it this way:
American Tax Freedom Day 2026 - April 16th.
Canadian Tax Freedom Day 2026 - June 9th.
Yes, in Canada, we have to work 2 months more than Americans just to pay the govenrment their share.
You fuckin' idiots don't have a clue.
