Hannibal keeps his hair long but when his prison hair was still growing out he noticed how much more forgiving Will was. Will thinks he looks cute like a wonky looking pet with the scruffy hair. So when Hannibal needs to make a mess, he cuts his hair short for Will’s forgiveness.

Sometimes he talks to the plushie when Hannibal is not there. He puts the tiger on the nightstand in hotels and knows he will be safe even if someone breaks in— Hannibal is keeping watching after all. He watches tiger videos now and draws comparisons between them and Hannibal.

A particularly enthusiastic saleswoman somehow corrals Will into a shop when he is simply passing by. “You can put your loved one’s face on any animal!” she exclaims, thrusting a tiger cub plushie into his hands. “On sale now! An incredible deal!” Will blinks at it. Cute.

Suddenly Will is $30 lighter, and dangling in his car is the tiger cub with Hannibal’s face on it. Soon Will forgets how the tiger looked without Hannibal’s face. Later, when he goes on trips, he packs the plushie into his suitcases with him. He never tells Hannibal about it.
