@AttorneyCrump Police did not shoot because of stolen diapers.
Mom tried to run police over because of stolen diapers.
Mom valued theft over the lives of her family.
She tried to run through police.
The child died because his mother loved theft more than her son.
@DawnButlerBrent By that logic, you would also owe reparations to the descendants of non-slave-owners who gave their lives in the Civil War securing your freedom (they were Republicans, BTW)
@MaxFlugrath Student IDs are not government IDs.
You realize that non-citizens get Student IDs right?
Why do you want non-citizens to vote?
We should just let everyone with a library card vote.
Correct. "Render unto Caesar" was an instruction for the individual, not a statement on the responsibility or actions the government should take.
All of Jesus' instructions were to individual responsibility and extrapolating those teachings into support one's own preference concerning systems of economics is faulty.
Absolutely incorrect.
Jesus never spoke on governmental systems, or the economic policies they should adopt. He did speak to a personal mindset of how we should handle money. Yet, he never once advocated taking money and compelling someone to do as he wanted with it. The only person who ever did that was Judas (John 12:5) who demanded to know why a woman's bottle of perfume was not taken, sold and the money given to the poor. Jesus rebuked Judas. Judas did not want to help the poor, he wanted to force money out of another's hands so he could access it.
Capitalism has raised more people out of poverty than any other economic system. The majority of the "poor" in capitalist societies would have been considered well-off in any other time in human history.
The biggest contradiction you can be as a human is uber capitalist and a follower of Jesus btw ..
capitalism goes against EVERYTHING he taught as it pertains to how to treat and love your neighbor
