This is a Mozambican professor who has dressed as a female Zimbabwean prisoner in solidarity with the pro-democracy women detained on June 16 for meeting to commemorate the Day of the African Child.
Prof. Adriano Nuvunga is the director of the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CDD), an organisation that promotes democracy and protects human rights in Mozambique.
Among the pro-democracy women jailed without trial by Emmerson Mnangagwa is a woman with a one-year-old child at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
Another woman activist was denied the right to bury her child, who died after Mnangagwa imprisoned her.
Another female activist, Namatai Kwekweza, was dragged off a plane and held incommunicado for eight hours and accused of committing a crime on a date when she was not even in Zimbabwe.
All this is happening in the context of the SADC Summit taking place in Harare this week.
The timing of these arrests and torture abuses of pro-democracy activists in Zimbabwe, coinciding with the upcoming SADC Summit, is ironic.
It is alarming to see the Zimbabwean regime seemingly cracking down on civil society and opposition voices ahead of a regional meeting that should, in theory, promote peace and cooperation.
Professor Adriano Nuvunga's act of solidarity by dressing as a female Zimbabwean prisoner highlights the international attention these issues are receiving.
Through your retweets and reshares of these posts, the world is waking up to the terrible situation in Zimbabwe today!
It is important for SADC member states to address these concerns and hold Zimbabwe accountable for upholding the principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
As the summit approaches, regional leaders must demonstrate their commitment to these values and work towards a peaceful resolution that respects the rights and freedoms of all Zimbabweans.
Failure to do so will lead to unintended consequences that will affect the whole region, as the immigration crisis in South Africa that has been created by Mnangagwa’s kleptocratic regime!
I want every Zimbabwean to understand this:
1. There is nothing illegal about protesting against Mnangagwa’s corrupt regime.
2. There is nothing illegal about saying Mnangagwa and his corrupt regime must go.
3. There is nothing wrong or illegal about stating that Luke Malaba was appointed illegally.
4. There is nothing illegal about claiming that Mnangagwa is corrupt and a political thug.
5. There is nothing illegal about saying that elections have failed in Zimbabwe and that Zimbabweans must take to the streets to force change.
All these things are backed by facts and the law of the land, the constitution!
All these actions are legal unless you are before a corrupt judiciary like Malaba’s unprofessional courts.
The Zimbabwean constitution permits all of the above.
These are important reminders for Zimbabweans to exercise their rights and engage in peaceful protests, despite the oppressive environment created by Mnangagwa's regime.
My repeated emphasis on the legality of various forms of protest and criticism is meant to encourage citizens to understand and assert their constitutional rights, even in the face of intimidation or manipulation from a corrupt judiciary.
1. Protest against an unjust regime.
2. Call for the removal of corrupt leaders.
3. Denounce illegal appointments, such as that of Luke Malaba.
4. Expose corruption and condemn political thuggery.
5. Advocate for change through street protests when elections fail.
Learn about Zimbabwe’s constitution section 59.
Section 59 of the Zimbabwean Constitution guarantees citizens the right to demonstrate and present petitions peacefully.
This fundamental right is essential for ensuring that individuals can express their views, advocate for change, and hold their government accountable without fear of legal repercussions.
The section reads: "Every person has the right to demonstrate and to present petitions, but these rights must be exercised peacefully."
This provision safeguards the democratic principles of free speech and assembly, which are crucial components of a functioning and just society.
Mnangagwa’s parrots talk about incitement, I have not seen any Zimbabwean inciting violence, they all talk about the need to go onto the streets!
It is LEGAL to do so and it should be done!
I have taken a painful but necessary decision today NOT TO participate in Go-Fund fundraisers or any fundraising of any sort because I have come to the conclusion that it is prolonging our oppression.
People should not rely on begging but should actively participate in freeing themselves.
I will only assist in fundraising efforts that seek to enhance our fight against Mnangagwa’s dictatorship.
If we want good healthcare, we must remove the dictatorship that is denying us healthcare.
By doing Go-Fundraisers, we are encouraging the dictatorship to continue, knowing there is a release valve.
So, don’t ask me to assist in Go-Fund campaigns unless they are intended to fund our efforts to free ourselves and freeing ourselves doesn’t include participating in fraudulent elections.
Begging is undignified, and I won’t participate in that anymore.
My decision to redirect my efforts towards fighting the root cause of inadequate healthcare and other societal issues, rather than solely addressing the symptoms through fundraisers, is painful but final. Relying on Go-Fund campaigns or other forms of fundraising inadvertently perpetuates the very problems we aim to solve.
Take a listen to lawyer Jeremiah Bamu and RETWEET.
He is representing the civil society activists and trade unionist who were abducted from a plane last week, tortured, and then jailed without trial.
The State is playing games by delaying the bail application because they have no case, all the charges are based on lies!
You can’t ask people to use a court system run by Dopey Luke when his magistrates are behaving this way!
Dopey Luke is doing crookED Emmerson’s dirty work by violating the constitution and depriving citizens of due process.
CrookED Emmerson is leading the country down a dangerous path.
When people have no recourse to a professional court system, they are forced to take drastic measures to free themselves.
Without a professional and independent court system, citizens are left with few options for seeking justice and protecting their rights.
This can lead to frustration, despair, and even civil unrest, as people feel they have no choice but to take matters into their own hands.
Both crooked Emmerson and Dopey Luke hold their positions unconstitutionally. CrookED Emmerson rigged the election, and Dopey Luke is Chief Justice after illegally extending his term.
There is no rule of law in Zimbabwe!

Forty-four civil society organizations across Africa have issued a statement against the abductions, arbitrary arrests, torture, and jailing of pro-democracy activists in Zimbabwe by crookED Emmerson and his secret service thugs!
Statement:
Alarming Escalation of State Repression in Zimbabwe Ahead of 44th SADC Summit
Human rights and civil society organizations across the African continent are deeply concerned about the severe restriction of civic space and the systematic erosion of fundamental freedoms in Zimbabwe.
The recent escalation in state-sponsored repression, characterized by abductions, arbitrary arrests and unjust denial of bail, torture, and harassment of human rights activists and opposition political members, represents a profoundly disturbing trend.
This repressive environment is particularly concerning ahead of the 44th session of the SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government scheduled for 17 August 2024.
It constitutes a direct assault on the fundamental rights of Zimbabwean citizens and an egregious violation of democratic principles and international standards.
The recent brutal crackdown on the Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) exemplifies this escalating repression.
On Wednesday, July 24, in Harare, ZINASU students peacefully convened for their annual General Council meeting when armed police in riot gear stormed the ZESA National Training Centre.
The police violently disrupted the gathering, subjecting unarmed students to severe beatings and arresting several attendees, resulting in numerous injuries.
ZINASU, a united front of Zimbabwean tertiary students, is dedicated to protecting students from exploitation and oppression, defending academic freedoms and rights, and promoting democracy.
This incident is not isolated but rather part of a broader and deeply troubling pattern of intimidation, arbitrary arrests, and victimization of civic groups and the opposition.
Currently, over 77 democracy activists are languishing in pre-trial detention after the High Court denied them bail following their arrest for holding a peaceful meeting at a private residence in Harare.
The detained members include children, elderly men, and women, some of whom were severely beaten and tortured while in custody.
Previously, opposition politician Mr. Job Sikhala was detained for 595 days from June 2022, frequently denied bail, kept in leg irons, in solitary confinement, and often denied access to his lawyer and relatives.
Obert Masaraure, president of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has also been subjected to numerous long drawn-out criminal proceedings and pre-trial detentions, and was recently convicted of the crime of Obstruction of Justice for an alleged tweet in solidarity with an arrested colleague.
The judiciary and law enforcement agencies are being weaponized to prosecute and persecute political opponents, signalling an alarming escalation of domestic repression.
Moreover, there has been a disturbing rise in extrajudicial killings, forming part of state-sanctioned violence against activists.
Following the controversial August 2023 elections, several opposition members were abducted, tortured, and killed, including political activist Mr. Tapfumaneyi Masaya, who was abducted, tortured, and murdered on November 12, 2023.
These incidents highlight the ongoing injustices against defenceless citizens and the relentless shrinking of democratic space.
Additionally, recent death threats issued by Zimbabwe’s Information Minister, Mr. Jenfan Muswere, accusing the opposition and civil society organizations of planning to instigate chaos and subversive activities, further exacerbate fears. President Mnangagwa's remarks warning against “rogue elements” inciting civil disorder ahead of the SADC Summit underscore the state's intent to suppress dissent.
On 31 July 2024, pro-democracy activist Namatai Kwekweza, trade unionist Robson Chere, and former councillor, opposition member Samuel Gwenzi and Vusumuzi Moyo were apprehended and removed by suspected security service officers from a domestic flight headed to Victoria Falls for a civil society workshop.
For at least eight hours they were held incommunicado, their whereabouts unknown to both family and lawyers.
When their lawyers eventually accessed them, Robson Chere had been visibly tortured and was in great pain. During consultations with their lawyers all of them reported being tortured and subjected to cruel inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment. They have now been absurdly charged with disorderly conduct in a public place.
We remind the Zimbabwean government of its obligations under article 4 of the SADC Treaty which requires its member states to act in accordance with the principles of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
Section 44 of the Zimbabwean Constitution mandates the respect, protection, promotion, and fulfilment of the rights and freedoms delineated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including the right to freedom of assembly and association as specified in Section 58.
These rights are also enshrined in international law and several binding regional instruments, including Articles 10 and 11 of the African Charter of Human and Peoples’ Rights (African Charter), Article 8 of the African Charter, Articles 20 and 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Articles 21 and 22 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
These rights are central to Zimbabwe’s constitutional democracy, providing a vital avenue for citizens to advance their objectives of promoting human rights and freedoms.
Gatherings of student unions, political parties and civil society organizatons have never posed a security threat.
We demand a clear and coherent explanation from the authorities for such heavy-handed actions, which only serve to heighten unnecessary security fears ahead of the SADC Summit.

We have been talking about elections for the past 24 years, but they don’t work when dealing with a political thug like crookED Emmerson!
Leaders should stop sanitising corrupt rule by repeating the same ineffective strategies of going into choreographed elections!
The only thing elections have provided is a few jobs for opposition members who go to Parliament, fight for cars and salaries, and collect kickbacks from crookED Emmerson as they did with the US$40,000 which I personally exposed in 2022!
Any attempt to railroad citizens into yet another rigged election without reforms will be condemned, and anyone attempting to do so should not complain when we say they are on crookED Emmerson’s payroll!
Nobody will ever be able to fix the broken politics through bogus elections, we must now use other means to deal with crookED Emmerson, elections is not one of those ways!
If there is another election without reforms, we will condemn anyone who gets involved in them and tell our people to stay home.
Let crookED Emmerson contest fake and rigged elections with his poodles!
#NoToRiggedElections
This is what happens when a country is being run by a crookED thug like Emmerson, you refer to President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania as “His Excellency” while boasting that you are ready. 🤣🤣🤣
The guy is just good at looting, plunder and violence against citizens!

Very soon, in a few days, I will provide you with a list of companies to boycott because they are either owned by crookED Emmerson or they support his corrupt regime.
If you want freedom to come, you need to participate in civic actions that will impact crookED Emmerson financially.
I will not force you to take action, I will simply inform you about what works and what doesn’t.
Wherever possible, avoid doing business with these companies and firms, only use them if you have no other option.
This type of targeted consumer activism has been successful in the past, such as in the case of the boycott of companies that did business with apartheid South Africa.
By choosing not to do business with these companies whenever possible, individuals will send a strong message that they do not support the regime's abuses and corruption.
This will put pressure on companies that support crookED Emmerson to reconsider their relationship with the regime and ultimately contribute to a broader movement for change while we prepare for a larger effort.
It is important to provide this information accurately and transparently and to avoid making unfounded accusations against companies that may be innocent of any wrongdoing. We will be thorough in our approach.
If you have any information, please share.
When I start rolling out this program, we will be doing a company a day.
Any company that enriches crookED Emmerson must be boycotted!
At least for those not brave enough to go into the streets or beyond, this will be easy!
We can’t just talk without action!
See you soon!

Red Carpet of Blood!
crookED Emmerson is saying he has finished preparing for the SADC Summit.
What his guests need to know is that these preparations were done using abductions, beatings, torture, arbitrary arrests, abuse of the judiciary and imprisonment!
As crookED Emmerson rolls out the red carpet, his guests will be passing through an airport where activists were dragged out of a plane and tortured for eight hours in that airport!
The fact that these activists were forcibly removed from a plane and subjected to hours of torture speaks to the repressive tactics being employed by the Zimbabwean government to silence dissent and suppress opposition.
It is crucial that SADC leaders take a strong stance against these abuses and hold the Zimbabwean government accountable for its actions. Ignoring these human rights violations or turning a blind eye to them would be a betrayal of the organization's stated values and principles.
crookED Emmerson even has a mother and her one-year-old child in jail for merely meeting to commemorate the Day of the African Child at the home of Senator Jameson Timba who is also in jail with 84 others who met at his home.
All these abductions, beatings, torture, arbitrary arrests, and imprisonments are being done in the name of SADC by crookED Emmerson.

As crookED Emmerson prepares to welcome regional leaders to Harare, he does so against a backdrop of violence, intimidation, torture, and repression targeting activists, trade unionists, and political opponents.
Some of his victims include:
- Robson Chere, a trade unionist who was tortured for eight hours at Robert Mugabe International Airport.
- Namatai Kwekweza, a young female activist who was abducted from a plane.
- A mother with a one-year-old child, who is currently in jail.
- Seventy-eight political activists, led by Jameson Timba, who are also imprisoned.
As crookED Emmerson rolls out the red carpet for the SADC leaders, beneath it lies the blood of pro-democracy activists who have been beaten and tortured over the past month.
The world and these SADC leaders must be aware of this!
The stark contrast between the pomp and ceremony of the SADC summit and the brutal reality of human rights abuses occurring in Zimbabwe is jarring.
Why call him Crooked Emmerson?
I use that term because Crooked Emmerson is in it for the corruption and nothing else.
In fact, we now know that he only wanted to be president in order to loot public funds and plunder the country’s natural resources.
Africa has never had a leader as pathetic as Crooked Emmerson.
He uses violence against anyone who speaks out and employs state apparatus to imprison them.
He built a network of criminal businesses in preparation for the moment he became president.
I have spoken to African leaders who tell me that their counterparts have complained that Crooked Emmerson calls other presidents to facilitate deals for his criminal network. “Can you please see so and so,” he will request.
He embarrasses our country.
We have 2,500 women who die giving birth because he presides over the looting of money meant for hospitals.
The biggest hospital in Zimbabwe only has one maternity theater, yet Crooked Emmerson steals money meant for hospitals with his criminal network, a fact that has been proven time and time again!
He has failed to provide clean drinking water as required by the Water Act, again due to his looting.
Roads are filled with potholes, yet he goes on a propaganda spree over a 7-kilometer road he built for SADC and Parliament.
All the other roads he refurbished were built by colonial governments.
He actually uses that road refurbishment to steal more public money by inflating prices.
He even masterminded the looting of COVID-19 funds and jailed me three times as punishment for exposing that corruption.
He uses a captured judiciary to reverse criminal trials involving his network. Crooked Emmerson is a menace and a danger to Zimbabwe’s prospects for any form of prosperity!
He seeks a third term yet doesn’t care that the country has been without a single radiotherapy cancer treatment machine for three years. He is a real mafia figure!
He has created an atmosphere of fear to avoid being challenged and gets kickbacks on government loans.
Who does that when your country has dilapidated hospitals?
Crooked Emmerson is indifferent, and the longer he stays in power, the more Zimbabwe will suffer.
He has made going to court pointless because the judiciary is compromised. Businesses are leaving the country because they have given up.
He demands a cut from every deal, his people direct investors on which law firms, banks, and accounting firms to use because he has interests in all these firms. He is a criminal who should be prosecuted if it were possible, but he wants to die in power!
Crooked Emmerson is a real tinpot dictator. He employs his relatives and friends in key positions, who then facilitate the looting for him.
There are no meaningful discussions in cabinet, he would have made all the decisions at his farm on weekends.
He has turned the cabinet into a rubber stamp for his criminality, appointing the most ineffective ministers and his killer henchmen like Mudha.
Imagine Mudha as a cabinet minister.
But that is Crooked Emmerson for you!
This man doesn’t deserve any respect. Those who pretend to respect him are also part of his criminal network or want to join it.
He goes around the region paying politicians to ensure they don’t oppose him at regional summits.
He has done this in many SADC countries, and we now have evidence of how it was done!
He has been stealing land from the State, his property in Borrowdale was stolen from NSSA, let him deny it, he work because it is true.
To steal this land, he first puts his relatives and friends, then they facilitate.
He uses laws that don’t even exist to persecute journalists, opposition politicians and activists.
He likes luxury things, he flies around in private jets using taxpayers money, and his henchmen do the same too.
Robert Mugabe was bad, but he is a toddler compared to Crooked Emmerson.
Mugabe was power made, Crooked Emmerson is money made, any place with money, you will find him.
Zimbabweans must fight this THUG
