I find a new way to be gentle with myself every day.
The days of being harsh with ourselves are not long behind us (yet) but they are retreating and making room for self-kindness and wow that feels NICE.
Living morally requires us to have critical engagement with the world from all angles. Falling back on platitudes is not rigorous, not honest, and not helpful. We cannot, at once, condemn the individual act of violence but refuse to point at the conditions which created it.

I asked 7th graders if they get Sunday scaries and they said that term doesn’t even rhyme or sound cool and it should instead be called Super Spooky Sundays.
