The Labour Party just got a 4.5 year warning of what awaits them if they can’t make enough of an impact on people’s lives to build a genuinely enthusiastic coalition of support.
For climate advocates across the country, the outcome of this election means that all of us must find ways to redouble our efforts and find bipartisan solutions to the climate crisis that create jobs, promote prosperity and safeguard the future of humanity.
In a moment such as this, it is important to remember that all major reform efforts, from civil rights to the climate movement, suffer dark days. And this is surely one. We can mourn a loss, but we can’t linger in despair. Our planet doesn’t have time for that. Now more than ever, this movement needs engagement and leadership from all corners of the country.
During a down moment in the struggle for civil rights, Martin Luther King, Jr. said something about overcoming days like this: “If you can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; but by all means keep moving.”
We know the line to solutions is never straight or easy. But we have won major victories in tackling the climate crisis and reducing climate pollution in our country, and we will again.
My greatest source of hope comes from the courage and commitment of grassroots leaders and advocates in the U.S. and around the world who are relentlessly pushing for progress. Onward.
The spirit of Cable Street has been manifested across our country tonight. All over England people from different creeds and communities have come together to send a message to the racists: No Pasaran!
This is exactly what the Nazis done to the Jewish business in Germany .
This is terrorism , anyone who tries to portray this as protest is a terrorist supporter.
I cannot believe that we have spent so much of society's resources on crypto. It is deeply embarrassing. Stop sniffing your own farts and go create some real value you dopes! There's a whole universe of problems to solve.
We made a small guide to some of the most regularly used far right symbols so that anyone can spot fascists and their pals easier. We chose a number that we have seen in person or in active online spaces, as well as some that are rare but worth remembering. 1/

We live in extraordinary times, when a daily global temperature of 1.65°C above pre-industrial brings down the year-to-date average (now 1.70°C), and a 365-day running mean of 1.56°C above pre-industrial gets zero attention on mainstream media.
These are the days of our lives.

COP28 is now on the verge of complete failure. The world desperately needs to phase out fossil fuels as quickly as possible, but this obsequious draft reads as if OPEC dictated it word for word. It is even worse than many had feared. It is “Of the Petrostates, By the Petrostates and For the Petrostates.” It is deeply offensive to all who have taken this process seriously. There are 24 hours left to show whose side the world is on: the side that wants to protect humanity’s future by kickstarting the orderly phase out of fossil fuels or the side of the petrostates and the leaders of the oil and gas companies that are fueling the historic climate catastrophe. In order to prevent COP28 from being the most embarrassing and dismal failure in 28 years of international climate negotiations, the final text must include clear language on phasing out fossil fuels. Anything else is a massive step backwards from where the world needs to be to truly address the climate crisis and make sure the 1.5°C goal doesn’t die in Dubai.
