Call for Recognition and Promotion of a Dedicated Traffic Officer

I respectfully call upon the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Minister of Internal Affairs to recognize, reward, and consider promoting this young female Traffic Police Officer for her exceptional dedication and professionalism.

Despite a heavy downpour at the Stella–Najjanankumbi junction along Entebbe Road, she remained steadfast at her post, diligently directing traffic and ensuring the safety of road users. Her unwavering commitment in such challenging weather conditions is a true reflection of selfless public service, discipline, and patriotism.

Officers who demonstrate this level of courage, resilience, and dedication deserve recognition, as their commitment inspires confidence in the Uganda Police Force and encourages excellence among fellow officers.

Last weekend, I had the privilege of witnessing a memorable milestone as Gordon Anastasia Sekandi was officially introduced by his beloved Maria to her parents. It was a colourful, joyful and culturally rich traditional introduction ceremony that celebrated the union of two wonderful families.

Earlier yesturday morning, for the Kasuzekatya ceremony, Gordon entrusted me with the honour of going to receive his bride. Later in the evening, I hosted Gordon, his family and members of Acrobatic Mission Fellowship (AMF) at Namasuba Hill for the Akasiki (Pre-Wedding Ceremony). It was an evening filled with wisdom, laughter and heartfelt counsel as elders shared life-changing advice to prepare the couple for the sacred journey of marriage.

Today, I am deeply honoured to serve as Gordon’s Best Man—thank you, Sebbo, for choosing me for this special responsibility. I have witnessed the beautiful couple exchange their marriage vows at Redeemed Church Kabowa, where Bishop Elijah Kintu has officiated a touching and spirit-filled wedding ceremony. My son, Benjamin Netanyahu Kivumbi Jr., also has the joy of serving as a page boy for the ceremony.

Our friendship spans many years.

In October 2024, I advised Gordon to return home after spending eight years in South Africa. I strongly felt in my spirit that difficult times were approaching for many fellow Africans living there. He trusted my counsel, returned to Uganda, ( Indeed many last month were ordered to vaccate the country)and he joined my company, HICGI News Agency.

Since then, Gordon has become an invaluable member of our media team. He has produced outstanding Talkshows, including my interview with former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete. Together, we have travelled across Uganda covering major events for HICGI News Agency. He has also professionally captured photographs and videos during the ministry visits of Dr. Michelle Corral, preserving many unforgettable moments.

My admiration for Gordon, however, began much earlier.

During my own wedding in 2014, he voluntarily took charge of organising my security and managing traffic along the Entebbe Road route to Munyonyo. His commitment, humility and willingness to serve left a lasting impression on me, and from that day, our friendship grew even stronger.

That same year, Gordon also participated in the historic Walk Aid 2014 humanitarian campaign. Alongside Pastor Jeremiah Musoke and other dedicated volunteers, he walked on foot for nearly three months from Kisoro at the Uganda–Rwanda border through Kampala, Eastern Uganda, Lira and finally to Yumbe, near the borders of Uganda, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Throughout that remarkable journey, they endured difficult conditions, often sleeping in tents or simple lodgings. The initiative was generously supported by Victoria University under the late Rajiv Ruparelia.

Gordon’s life has consistently reflected commitment, sacrifice, loyalty and a heart for serving others. Today, I celebrate not only a faithful friend but also a brother whose perseverance has led him to this beautiful new chapter.

May the Lord bless your marriage with unwavering love, divine wisdom, good health, faithful service, prosperity and generations of godly children. May your home forever be filled with peace, joy and the abundant favour of God.

My great friend, @dorothykisaka , the former Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (@KCCAUG ), demonstrated visionary leadership when she championed the Weyonje Program, an initiative that mobilized citizens to clean Kampala every last Saturday of the month. It was a practical reminder that nation-building begins with personal responsibility and community participation.

Today, I am encouraged that Cabinet has seen the wisdom and value of this initiative by reviving and elevating it to the national level. This is a clear indication that good ideas, regardless of where they originate, can contribute to transforming our country when embraced by leaders and citizens alike.

As Uganda continues its journey towards social and economic transformation, we must remember that development is not only measured by roads, industries, and buildings, but also by the cleanliness of our communities, the protection of our environment, and the willingness of citizens to actively participate in improving their surroundings.

I commend Madam Dorothy Kisaka for her foresight and dedication. I also recognize the @BugandaKingdom_ for preserving and promoting the spirit of Bulungi Bwansi, and the Government of Rwanda for demonstrating the power of community service through similar initiatives. Their examples remind us that a clean nation is a reflection of a disciplined, patriotic, and united people.

Let us all embrace the spirit of Bulungi Bwansi. The responsibility of building a better Uganda does not belong to government alone—it belongs to each one of us. Together, we can create cleaner cities, healthier communities, and a stronger nation for future generations.

It was a great pleasure meeting Major General Sabiiti Muzeyi, a distinguished Ugandan military officer and the General Manager of Luwero Industries Limited.

Major General Sabiiti has had an illustrious career in both the military and law enforcement sectors. He served as Uganda’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) from March 2018 to December 2020 and previously commanded the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Military Police. He also led the elite Special Forces Command (SFC), demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication to national security.

Currently, he serves as the General Manager of Luwero Industries Limited, a subsidiary of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), where he continues to contribute to Uganda’s industrial and strategic development.

I was honored to meet and interact with such a dedicated servant of our nation. May God continue to bless you, Sir, with good health, wisdom, and strength as you serve Uganda.
