@alter_jamie Three hours to the airport, under three to Bengaluru. 😅
Just don't tell Bengaluru traffic, it takes that as a challenge.
Hope the airport-to-home leg was kinder!
₹18k for a direct flight between India's two biggest cities. Or ₹15k for a connecting flight with a six-hour layover in another city. 😅
Apparently, saving money now comes with a half-day airport subscription.
If the busiest route is this painful, what chance do Tier 2 cities have?
Route-wise fare trends published every month would at least show where it's broken. @MoCA_GoI@DGCAIndia
If the American Dream keeps getting harder to reach, maybe it's time to upgrade the Indian Dream.
For decades, India's most reliable export wasn't software. It was the people who built it.
Maybe it's time to ask: "Why do I need to leave India to build the life I want?"
Maybe the real upgrade isn't a visa or a US passport. It's deciding this country is worth fixing, and showing up to fix it.
Bengaluru is bringing AI to parking. 😅 Before it goes citywide, a few questions:
Who counts as a resident: anyone in Jayanagar, only that street, or only homes facing the stretch? What proof gets the exemption?
Can the cameras catch footpath parking, or only spot vacant slots?
What happens with covered, unreadable or non-HSRP number plates?
How are quick pickups, drop-offs and waiting cabs treated?
Will charges reach owners in real time, even when their registered mobile number is outdated?
If a fine is wrong, where and how do you appeal, and how fast?
How long is camera footage kept, and who can access it?
Are disabled-parking spots reserved and enforced?
A pilot should test these gaps, not leave citizens guessing. Publish the rules, known limitations, costs and results before expanding.
Smart parking should make life easier for drivers without making pedestrians pay the price. @comm_blr_south@blrcitytraffic
Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner KN Ramesh said residents parking in front of their homes in Jayanagar will be exempt from fees under upcoming Smart Parking system.
Fees will apply only on major commercial roads between 9am and 10pm.
The system will feature CCTV surveillance, real-time parking availability through a mobile app and variable message signboards.
Commissioner said traders’ demands for lower fees & 30 minutes of free parking would be examined.

A Rajdhani can now be cancelled by traffic nearly 1,500 km away. The tracks were ready. The roads outside the station weren't. 😅 If a station's last kilometre can stop a Rajdhani, every major terminal needs a public access plan for crowded days, and someone accountable for it.
@ShreeRA43002214 Speed breakers are meant to slow cars down, not park the whole Outer Ring Road for 2 km. Seven days of complaints and the breaker is still winning.
@ChristinMP_ 1.4 km done, 600 metres stuck on land and TDR paperwork. Building the four-lane on available land first is the right call. A weekly public tracker of what's complete, what's pending and which agency is holding each metre would keep this stretch from becoming another announcement.
@Srinivas_091294 Four years of loose and missing tiles on ECR, and pedestrians still get pushed onto a high-speed road. A footpath that forces you into traffic isn't a footpath.
The warning has arrived months in advance. The action plan usually arrives after the first heatwave.
If El Niño is coming, every city should publish its heat and water plan before the heat hits: shade and drinking-water points, tanker schedules, hospital readiness, deadlines, and a named officer accountable for each.
A forecast can warn us. It can't prepare the city for us.
The agent isn't beating the system. He got the cheat code. 😅
Government process: 30 days. Agent: "Give me 2." 😂
When the middleman has the cheat code and the citizen doesn't, the service isn't public anymore. It's private access with a public logo.
A government service that needs an agent to be usable isn't a service. It's a government-sponsored toll booth.
A ₹8.3 crore hospital had a generator on site, yet doctors treating accident victims reportedly had to use phone torchlight.
The generator was there. The diesel wasn't.
When emergency care depends on someone's phone battery, that's an operational accountability failure.
Publish the generator test date, fuel-stock log, last maintenance record, the name of the officer who signed the check, and a deadline to fix any gap found. @DHFWKA
8.30 CRORE HOSPITAL, BUT ‘TORCHLIGHT OPERATION’ FOR ACCIDENT VICTIMS in Karnataka
A 30 bed Community Health Centre in Vijayapura’s Devar Hipparagi was plunged into darkness when around 10 accident victims, including five seriously injured, were brought in.
Doctors were forced to treat the injured under mobile phone torchlight.
The hospital reportedly has a generator but no diesel to operate it.
The seriously injured were later shifted to Vijayapura District Hospital.

@LoopandPixels India has its own AI. 😅
You file a civic complaint, it instantly replies "Complaint registered."
Then the system goes into airplane mode for months. ✈️
No tracking. No updates. No idea who owns it.
Maybe India's killer AI already exists. It's called "Complaint registered."
“Could have been any one of us” is exactly why the probe can’t take months.
Thousands drive over that stretch every day.
The cause of the collapse, inspection status of the road above the Metro work, and the date it will be declared safe should all be public this week.
People shouldn’t have to wait months to know whether the road beneath them is safe.@cmrlofficial@chennaicorp
A new bridge was supposed to reduce traffic, but the service road below now seems to need a police officer just to keep things moving. 😅
When a design needs a constable standing in the sun to manage the traffic, the design deserves a second look.
Publish a traffic study covering the RoB and YMCA junction, identify the bottleneck, and give the proposed fix a clear deadline and responsible agency. That would help everyone stuck there — including the police.
@KeypadGuerilla An open pipeline excavation was left without adequate protection, putting pedestrians at serious risk.
A child walking with family shouldn't have to rely on alert locals to avoid an injury.
Every open excavation needs proper barricades and covers before work starts.
Gunjur-Doddakaneli Road said "road? never heard of it." 😅
At this rate, GBA might as well open a towing service at every big pothole. At least it'll create employment. The pits here are so deep that motorists are pulling their own vehicles out, right in Bengaluru's tech corridor. And Gunjur isn't special. Pick almost any area and there's a stretch like this.
This isn't a pothole problem. It's an accountability problem, citywide.
For every damaged road, name the engineer, publish the contractor, work order and repair deadline, and put the progress online until it's motorable. Explain every missed deadline. @GBA_office@ICCCBengaluru@GBAChiefComm
#Bengaluru’s broken roads are turning into death traps!
Caught on camera: Motorists struggling to pull their vehicles out of ‘surprise & shocker pits’ on the Gunjur-Doddakaneli Road (which connects to Carmelaram) in the tech corridor.
Will these roads ever become motorable?

A river doesn't forget where its floodplain was, even when the map does.
Build over the Gomti's natural spread, and a few hours of rain can mean streets turning into streams, cars becoming stranded, homes taking in water and rescue boats replacing traffic.
A public floodplain map showing what's already built, what's approved, and what's proposed next would be an honest place to start.
OMR has apparently added a basement level. Entry is free, staying upright is not. 😅
A road near Tidel Park caved in today and a car went in with it. Thankfully, both people reportedly got out safely.
But luck isn't a safety system.
Publish the cause, set a deadline for the probe, and disclose the inspection status of the stretches above the Metro work, with an officer responsible for each.
@cmrlofficial@chennaicorp
Apparently Bengaluru has a new safety inspector: the rat. 😅
If a rat can get into a ring main unit, the inspection clearly didn’t get there first.
Publish a ward-wise audit of footpath units, with a repair deadline and responsible officer. Let’s not wait for the next rat to expose the gap. @NammaBESCOM
#Bengaluru; Investigations by Bescom into the blast near Amazon office on Bagalur Road has taken a bizarre turn: The explosion was caused because of a RAT 🐀 !
The rat had entered the ring main unit (RMU) and meddled with the wiring, resulting in an electrical flashover. (Photo👇)
The injured pedestrian, 35-yr-old Afroz, was treated at private hospital & is out of danger.
