“The question should never be ‘Will the Savior walk with me?’ He will. The real question is ’Will I walk with Him?’” — Elder Clement M. Matswagothata #GeneralConference
“The Savior taught that He is not only our guide, He is the path. His way is the only path that leads to eternal life.” — Elder Brian J. Holmes #GeneralConference
The prophet Mormon asks a very simple question to the future readers of this record: “Know ye not that ye are in the hands of God?” (Mormon 5:23).

“I lost my diplomas, not my education.
I lost my wardrobe, not my style.
“Katrina took everything I owned, my home, my community, my routines—and God used all that water to get to me. I always say, 'He had to flood New Orleans to find Miss Toni.'
“I was member of another church. A ‘fifteen minutes of church' Christian. When the sister missionaries invited me to three hours, I said, “Baby, no way.”
But I was curious.
First hour. Then second. Then third.
And I thought, 'These people are serious about learning.'
“At the same time, my mother was dying, my brother had a stroke, and all of us were living under one roof. I prayed, 'Lord, help me.'
“Then one day a woman knocked on my door and said, 'Can I pray for you?'
She became my friend, my lifeline. She drove me places, fed me, bought me a Book of Mormon with my name on it.
“My family said, 'It’s a cult!'
I said, 'Until you read this book, don’t send me another word.'
“I joined the Church, and life opened again.
God chased me down.
He wanted me in His temple.
So I serve, I give, I love.
“My grandmother always said, 'Baby, you can’t out-give God.'
“So, when someone tries to refuse kindness I just smile and say:
"'Please don’t step on my blessing.'” — Miss Toni
If you have turned away from God, please remember that no matter the reason, and no matter how long you’ve been away, He wants you back. The Savior’s arms are always wide open.
Before we served together in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I sat beside Elder Russell M. Nelson for 34 years in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
He became my best friend and most effective teacher. His life bore witness of his committed testimony as a Prophet and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Great blessings come to families if they pray together, kneeling night and morning to offer thanks for blessings and to pray over common concerns. #GeneralConference
Susan and I have spent the day with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other community members who were involved in the tragic shooting episode that took place in Michigan on Sunday.
The devotion of these faithful members makes me want to be more devoted, and the faithfulness of these good people makes me want to be more faithful.
They have the capacity—because of the eternal perspective of the gospel of Jesus Christ—to learn lessons in tragedy in mortality that prepare them for eternal life.
We are familiar with the admonition that we should mourn with those that mourn. There are broken hearts here in Michigan. My invitation to any and all is to continue to pray for these good people.
The horror and tragedy of what occurred in Michigan makes any decent soul ache, but I think what makes the heartbreak even more poignant for Latter-day Saints is that millions of us this morning were in that same building, sitting in those same pews with our loved ones, listening to those same testimonies. Yes, we were in a different place, but the attack was intimately personal and terrifying.
From 5 am today these teenagers waited near site for 12 hours hoping their 17 year old friend is alive under the ruble. Tragically he was killed by russian terrorist attack together with him Mom. His 14yo sister is in hospital. Russia murders kids and families in their homes.
