Thanks! The first task is to have Forge recognize the project before any modification.
The agent will do indexing of the repository, analysis of its AST, mapping dependencies, and analyzing compiler diagnostics for the issues. Next, it'll suggest solutions, modify based on approvals, execute tests, and validate the results.
More long-term, I'm working on systems engineering topics: visualization of architecture, impact analysis of changes, concurrency debugging, and failure reproduction testing.
The end result is an AI agent that does not only produce code, but also assists in understanding, debugging, and validating systems.
π¦ Building Forge β an AI Developer Agent with Rust, Tauri 2 & Leptos 0.8.
Today's progress:
> Built a VS Code-inspired desktop layout from scratch
> Implemented reactive sidebar navigation
> Integrated macOS native folder picker via Tauri IPC
> Opened a real local Rust project
> Displayed the selected project name and path
> Synced project selection with the status bar
Next: Recursive file explorer, code viewer & AI agent integration.
From an empty window to a working desktop application.
Building in public, one milestone at a time. π

I chose Leptos mainly for its fine-grained reactivity. Unlike Reactβs component re-rendering model, Leptos updates only the DOM nodes that depend on changed signals, reducing unnecessary re-renders and reconciliation overhead.
It also offers end-to-end Rust type safety, shared types between frontend and backend, and built-in server functions through #[server] without needing a separate framework like Next.js.
That said, performance and bundle size depend on the application. For Forge, Leptos gives me a cleaner, Rust-first architecture with fewer abstraction layers.

An open-source AI-powered desktop developer agent built with Rust!
> Tauri 2 + Leptos + tokio + serde + anyhow
> Fast code search with ripgrep
> AI-powered debugging
> Secure Cargo execution
> One ambitious project.

Rust is not just a programming language, rather it is becoming a lifestyle π¦.
Memory safety without garbage collection.
Fearless Concurrency.
Zero-cost abstractions.
Once someone go on Rust, never go back.

π¦ TIL why Rust has both PartialEq and Eq:
f64: impl PartialEq β
f64: impl Eq β
Because NaN != NaN π€―
PartialEq = "equality that might not be reflexive"
Eq = "full equivalence relation" (reflexive, symmetric, transitive)
Floats can't promise x == x. So they get PartialEq only.

Transformers changed AI because they gave machines a powerful way to model relationships between pieces of information through attention.
But we should be careful about one assumption:
Better prediction β human-like understanding.
Scaling transformers may take us furtherβbut understanding intelligence may require something fundamentally different.
