@iWomansplainer@zillaah707@JeffCatholic Not sure, but my thought is the air handler requires some overall CFM number, and the returns are sized to provide that in total. If you're going to abandon a return duct, you're pulling in less air, which I'm thinking may cause underperfomance.
@iWomansplainer@zillaah707@JeffCatholic Where do the two returns connect today? If you're going to abandon the floor return, you might have to compensate for the air flow that is no longer going through that ductwork. Just adding another ceiling return on to that existing return duct isn't going to get more airflow.
@natehoodstp Any idea how much juice is left in the battery after the average 15 min of snowblowing? Our driveway is smaller, but we have the sidewalks. Overall I don't think it's significantly more to clear compared to you.
@natehoodstp Good to know, thanks. Approx. how long does it take to clear your walks and driveway? Have you ever run out of battery life when starting from a full charge?
@jffxns@lineator@USMobile They also have a way to switch between T-Mobile, Verizon, and ATT. Not automatically on the fly, but it would be a good way to try each for a period of time and see what's best. I've been very happy with them the last two years.
@jffxns@lineator@USMobile Yeah, they have priority access on Verizon. It's the same as if you had regular post-paid Verizon. I believe Visible is one level lower. @USMobile has a very active Reddit community if you're into that, it's a good way to get direct support from the company.
@sdamico Very true. We looked into both options for our 1905 house and the ducted air handlers were cheaper with better coverage (2019). And that's even considering we had zero ducting before the project because we have a hot water boiler.
@sdamico If you already have ducting, why not go with a heat pump connected to a ducted air handler. Sure you lose some efficiency, but it's less disruptive by orders of magnitude.
@sdamico With an old home (smaller rooms), mini splits in every room seems like overkill. Also, that's a significant amount of lines to run which means increased expense and a lot of clean up and patch work after the HVAC project.
