Thrilled to sponsor & judge the Berlin Robotics × AI Hackathon this weekend!
NormaCore powered the robotics track with our ElRobot Kits & software.
Nothing beats seeing our tech out in the wild driving real Physical AI projects! 🚀🔥
Building a Rover: Day 6 🛠️
Deep in the software and sysadmin trenches today. 💻
The hard rule: at least one LTE modem (ideally both) must stay online. It has to survive:
▪️ Reboots & brownouts 🔌
▪️ OOM killers 💥
▪️ Dead storage & failing SD cards 💾
▪️ Driver bugs & random system panics 🐛
Whatever happens, the connection must live.
If it drops, that's a multi-hundred-kilometer drive just to hit a physical reset button.
Stress-testing configs and cycling failovers now.
Building a Rover: Day 4 🛠️
@arduino Portenta x8 + @norma_core_dev station = ❤️
✅ Custom Linux build using Yocto
✅ No systemd, no Docker, etc., just clean Linux
✅ Remote access using Tailscale

The updated ElRobot Assembly Instructions are live! 🛠️
We’ve overhauled the manual for a much smoother build:
✅ Universal parts: No more L/R mirrors!
✅ Simplified steps: One action at a time.
✅ Built-in QA: Test movement as you build.
✅ Clear warnings: Stop installing motors backwards.

Building a Rover: Day 1 🛠️
Got the 6x6 chassis set up and the wheelbase locked in. The foundation is ready.
The design criteria:
⛰️ All-terrain capability
🛡️ Water & dust resistance
📦 Payload capacity of ~8 kg

Building a Rover: Day 3 🛠️
Got the @Traxxas TRX-6 base completely cleaned up. Now playing the waiting game for spare parts...
Next up on the to-do list:
⚡️Swap out the plastic for metal
⚡️New motors & fresh lube
⚡️Ditch the RC
⚡️Wire in a new CAN-compatible ESC running on LiFePo4
