Honestly, seeing vision models applied to real-world spaces like this is amazing.

This rover rolls through vineyard rows, tracking every subtle environmental shift with an affordable camera setup. Every single pass updates a shared 3D record, creating a highly detailed visual history for us and AI to study.

We talk a lot about digital worlds but seeing computer vision map and understand the physical world in real-time is where the real magic happens.

New night visitors at the vineyard. AI says foxes, we agree 🦊

Someone stopped by to visit our rover at the vineyard before dawn 👀

Who could it be?

50 leaders, 50 followers. Packed and shipped yesterday for @norma_core_dev

Sourced the Feetech STS3215s, cameras and hubs after the order, assembled once everything was in, checked every unit, cameras in separate bags.

Learned a lot on this batch. Thank you to the NormaCore team.

100 units went out yesterday.

50 leaders had been sitting on the couch, 50 followers in the boxes next to them. yesterday they were all packed to spec and loaded for a European customer @norma_core_dev

Loved visiting @Televitis at @unirioja on 2 October and learning how they use hyperspectral imaging to study grape composition and vine water status.

Thank you to the whole team for the warm welcome and for sharing your research with us. It was a pleasure to see the passion and dedication you bring to your work!

A video contains more than we extract on the first pass.

This 3D reconstruction was built with AI from a single short drone flight. We can revisit the same footage to extract more information, estimate dimensions and answer new questions as our models improve.

Happy to share our second collaboration for SCRAP: @norma_core_dev is supporting the project with a hardware grant.

Their parallel jaw gripper is already mounted on MOSS, our open-source litter-collection robot.

ElRobot could also be an interesting option for MOSS itself. Its 7+1 DoF configuration and longer reach than our SO-101 could give us more freedom to approach objects from different angles and reach awkward spots. We’ll put that to the test and share the failed attempts as well as the successful pickups.

Next, we’ll compare ElRobot and OpenYAM on a Unitree Go2. We’re interested in how ElRobot’s lighter, more affordable design and OpenYAM’s precision translate into real collection tasks, and what we can learn from each.

Thank you to the NormaCore team for backing an open-source project with hardware we can build with, test and learn from. We’re looking forward to sharing the results!

MOSS is the first step in SCRAP: Street Cleaning Robotic Arm Platform.

Here’s what we’re building next:

Started two weeks ago: MOSS
An open-source robot for litter collection. Build together, break things, improve the hardware and collect data as a community.

Mid-October 2026: Go2 + OpenYAM
With Dimensional OS: autonomous mapping and navigation, litter classification and collection, fleet management and voice control.

November 2026: Start developing a larger platform
Built for roadsides and public spaces, keeping MOSS’s friendly character.

Thanks to @OpenAIDevs, @dimensionalos , @norma_core_dev and @tnkrdotai for supporting the project.

A @SHOW_ROBOTICS project.

We’ll share the builds, the tests and what we learn along the way.

The Rover moves continuously through the vineyard, recording changes with a basic, affordable camera and other sensors. Each pass adds dated observations to a shared record. We use it to build and check reconstructions like this one, for people and AI to work with.
