Rockville (like Gaithersburg) is not covered by Montgomery County’s rent stabilization law, and renters are struggling to keep up.
Thank you to City Councilmember @izola4progress for fighting for the nearly half of Rockville residents who are renters.

Everyone deserves a safe and dignified place to live. Today's enactment of the Tenant Safety Act marks a significant stride towards realizing this fundamental right for all.
50+ advocates headed out to Annapolis on a gloomy day to champion HB1117, the Tenant Safety Act & HB477, Good Cause Act! These bills are crucial renter protection measures that ensure safety & stability for MD families. #ProtectRenters#mdga24#HousingJustice
This week, I presented Good Cause Eviction (HB 477) to the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee. We’re running out of time - let’s get Good Cause done!
Urging the committee to move favorable and bring to the Senate floor!
Last weekend, I led a renter listening event. I’m grateful to the renters who shared their stories with us at the door, and later with City Hall. We must create policies that work to achieve housing stability for all City residents. Let's pass rent stabilization! #HousingJustice

With more tenants organizing and demanding repairs for safe living conditions, landlords have retaliated with unjust and discriminatory lease non-renewals. We thank Housing Justice Champion, Del. Wilkins for protecting families! Check out the Op-Ed: https://t.co/Hk5LOG6Bdi

The Menstrual Products Access and Equity Act received strong public support at the public hearing last week. This bill is an important step forward in menstrual health in our County.
In July, The Montgomery County Council passed a permanent county-wide rent stabilization bill. Moments ago, they passed a special appropriation bill 24-14, allocating $1,374,470 to DHCA to fund and implement it.
Tomorrow 12/12, the Council will hold a public hearing for my bill, 42-23 "Menstrual Products Access and Equity Act" followed by a press conference with advocates and key organizations. Access to menstrual products is a public health need.
