Air quality in the kitchen is a common issue. Especially VOCs emitted from oils, but also NOx pollution from gas stoves are a problem.

Come along for an investigation with the Air Lab while frying nuggets. You will see how you can use “Live View”, “Precision Mode” and customized “Idle Screens” to pinpoint changes in air quality.

Although Air Lab, our portable air quality monitor, works exceptionally well as a stand-alone device, we’re expanding its capabilities.

We’re working on a mobile app that will give you an even better way to explore your data, configure your device, and access new features:

•⁠ ⁠Customize your Air Lab’s idle screen with designs from us and the community. Whether you prefer a single large CO₂ reading or detailed graphs of all parameters at a glance, it’s all possible. Thanks to the plugin system, you’ll even be able to create and share your own designs.

•⁠ ⁠Create reports from your air quality data and better understand your environment. Compare measurements to spot differences and share results with others.

Five days of manufacturing and 350 assembled Air Labs later. The first batch is shipped!

Join along for a glimpse into the final assembly of the Air Lab—our air quality monitor—at our office in Zurich. From soldering, attaching the battery, and screwing them all together to flashing and testing every unit and finally placing them into their freshly folded box. These devices are currently being shipped out to our first customers who backed the CrowdSupply campaign.

Air Lab uses the SCD41 from @sensirion for CO2 readings, which is known for its reliability and accuracy. Based on the datasheets, Aranet4Home offers +/-30ppm of accuracy, while the SCD41 between +/-40-50ppm. Additionally, Air Lab measures VOC and NOx, which helps create a more comprehensive image of the current indoor air quality in your room. Happy to answer if you have any more questions!
