@connor_perr@monkofjustice@JonMcK1647@IamtheLugal It’s on multiple parish websites that we adhere to all seven councils, including my own parish. Haven’t seen any encouragement of venerating icons (other than bowing toward the cross at the procession). But I doubt there would be a big issue with it, either.
@monkofjustice@wyclif@JonMcK1647@IamtheLugal Multiple parishes in our area also state explicitly on their websites that we adhere to all seven ecumenical councils. I think of that as more Anglo-Catholic, but maybe that perception isn’t universal?
@monkofjustice@wyclif@JonMcK1647@IamtheLugal Definitely true. In my parish, the clergy and altar party do some prayers from the Missal before the liturgy, including prayers to the Saints. Not part of the public liturgy, but still. We also do Altar of Repose with reserved Eucharist on Maundy Thursday. Pretty AC in my book.

Are you a vocally conservative person? Have you been that way for ten or more years? Imagine your reaction if Obama had said this. That's it, just be honest with yourself.
@monkofjustice I didn’t know any members other than bishops. I just looked to see if I could find anything about the members. There’s nothing on the REC website about anything concerning the General Committee. Only references are in the PDF of the Constitution and Canons.
For the past three years I have been thinking quite a bit about what is needed for the ACNA to survive and flourish longterm.
Over the past three days I've crafted something of a manifesto. Quixotic perhaps--but I think it spells out what is needed.

Honest question: Is Bishop Hall dealing with the actual doctrine of Transubstantiation here, or only with popular conceptions of it? My understanding of that doctrine (which I do not hold, to be clear) is that it does not teach that the body of Christ actually gets digested.
Incredibly dishonest framing! This doesn’t give every baby “a fair shot at health.” It’s just choosing to make sure babies that have health problems are never born. A fair shot at health would be gene therapy for genetic diseases (not possible yet as far as I know).
People like Lyman Beecher were reinterpreting the Westminster Confession beyond recognition, and Finney outright denied large portions of it back in the 1830s. But the issue goes back further than that to some of Jonathan Edwards’ protégés.
It’s a fair point, but this issue goes back much further than many think. American Presbyterians have been rejecting historic and substantial Presbyterian doctrine for a long time.
Looks like this particular parish is dual practice on baptism (they do both infant baptism and baby dedications depending on family preference). I also can’t seem to find any reference to the Eucharist on the website. Definitely on the fringe for an Anglican parish.
Largest parish in ACNA is no longer Christ Church Plano, but now C4SO’s multisite Vintage Church LA in El Segundo and Santa Monica. At 3,000 on an average Sunday, it is legitimate mega church, although that is spread across five services in two locations: https://t.co/bsvhAInWTQ
