⚡@centrica and HiiROC, supported by NZTC, successfully demonstrated hydrogen injection into a gas-fired peaker plant, delivering low-carbon power to the grid.
The trial used HiiROC’s CO2-free hydrogen, produced using just one-fifth of the electricity needed for electrolysis, showing a cost-effective and reliable way to decarbonise existing infrastructure without major upgrades, and provide low-carbon power to UK homes and businesses.
This is a key milestone in meeting decarbonisation obligations and advancing the UK’s net zero goals.
