@System76 has a really cool Thelio Astra system with an Ampere Altra CPU (up to 128 cores!) and a real discrete NVIDIA GPU, but there's no chance of getting graphics acceleration with that GPU working on Windows ARM right now... Only Linux. Unfortunate.

It seems wild that in 2025 there’s no affordable ARM64 workstation:

- ~16 perf cores with performance close to a typical x86 desktop
- ECC UDIMMs (leaving out ECC on consumer x86 was a huge mistake)
- RTX 4070-class GPU w/ full Linux + Windows drivers
- < $2500 or so

And no, @Qualcomm's GPUs don't count: performance is weak, driver support is short-lived, and application compatibility is a gamble. They still treat their PC SoCs like phones -- ship a chip, move on -- when the desktop market needs long-term stability and robust drivers.

Microsoft, you are so incredibly out-of-touch with users. Just bring us back to the Windows 7 days. No bloat, no AI, no mandatory Microsoft Accounts, opt-out Windows Defender capability... just a clean desktop experience that everyone wants.

Can @Windows team please make Windows Defender take a back seat when a third party antivirus is installed? I know it's *supposed* to do so, but I tested with ESET and MsMpEng.exe still on-demand scans everything, even though ESET is present and functioning.

Push notifications in browsers are one of the most abused features I've seen.

I went to @accuweather's site, and it offered push notifications for local weather updates. This never goes well, but... why not? It would be nice to know if it's going to snow soon, or if there will be heavy rain or wind.

An hour after enabling the notifications, it promotes an article regarding a photographer taking pictures of lava flows. Ah yes, the famous lava flows of Post Falls, Idaho.

Why is it that legitimate sites can't even use this feature without promoting garbage instead of simply fulfilling the function they initially sold to the user?
