Philosophy (neuro), Economics (Behavioral, Networks, Theory). Lost 70-80 dB hearing at 10; sheared brainstem at 24. Disability, trauma, neurorehabilitation.
@gglinskii -4-5% nasdaq:goog, the market wasn't enthusiastic
The last full paragraph is the most important. Jeff Dean & other fellows left google to focus on scientific discovery independently @DiscoLoopAI . Mistake by sergey brin
@EdithKuiper@mehdirhasan His 2016 aide is the DHS Secretary and controls ICE now. WTH do you think they were practicing for a year?
Public "support" doesn't matter in regimes.
And money will FLOW from abroad if sponsors evaluate themselves to benefit from US institutional collapse.
@arpitrage Have you been or are you google earth-ing
I just went to downtown bellevue from redmond yesterday for a bar date, entirely public transit. Easy with light rail now.
Not "one of the worst" IMO. too asian influenced. You ever been to dallas or houston?
@Sulkhan Nadezhdin wasn't much of an "insider", it was pretty clear he was always opposing within the system.
Guy's too smart (soviet HS math olympiad 2nd place) for their comfort. They banned him everywhere politically, also from leaving Russia. So he can't criticize/organize abroad.
@PAHoyeck Pure non-fiction I read FAST. But anything seriously introspective I slow down 1000x because of, uh, introspection? If I hear someone reads much, they come across as a regurgitator of else-thoughts. Maybe I'm just slow because of my permanent brain damage.
@captgouda24 Agree. We take notes in education -- not only because of memorization -- but internalization and re-consideration. I have thought of crucial novelties many times while projecting into the world. It's easier to understand the exogenous than the endogenous.
@QiaochuYuan You're "slightly-uncomfortably-warm" when walking. Walking is linked with creativity, there's a reason great minds adore walking (e.g., einstein godel). You can see Stanford's Oppezzo Schwartz 2014 paper "...Walking...Creativity".
@IAPonomarenko Fedorov is a charismatic populist orator, he gives public talks 24/7 and he has a nice media presence. He has a good public image. It's hard to form a concrete, factual opinion on him. He's closer to a tech salesman than a general afaik.
@generic_void You might enjoy "Old Money: Campaign finance and gerontocracy in the United States" (2025)
I remember in Wi2023 @JakeMGrumbach was still at UW-Seattle and I talked to him about this then-WP after class. Really touchy subject though, in our old-people-driven society.
@AgustinLebron3 "Black markets" have an associated (moral) fixed cost. Legalization/state support of gambling is a removal of a BIG barrier to entry.
I'm not clear if "Demand" or "Quantity Demanded" changes, though.
@BachmannRudi The fact many pundits praise "Ukraine license to build Patriots". They need them NOW, and they lack the infra/safety to manufacture their own reliably/QUICKLY. RU oil is in crisis and winter is coming; 2026 will be the bloodiest year. And ofc Trump will dance Putin's tune.
@katherineveritt If all possible worlds lie within the actual one (goodman), then i suppose the claim is that no one is free. That tracks. Bum arse useless word
