For the cover of @MolSystBiol Molecular Systems Biology (Vol. 19, Issue 3), we adapted Hope II by Gustav Klimt into a scientific visual language.
The goal: preserve the themes of pregnancy, vulnerability, and protection, while translating them into a story about placental immune modulation by Group B Streptococcus.
Art history meets molecular systems biology!

Wow! So cool🤯 Satellite glial cells can deliver mitochondria to neurons through channels called tunneling nanotubes. Congratulations to Ru-Rong Ji's lab @DukeU! https://t.co/m0ff2U2dDT
Can’t make it tonight? I’ll be presenting this poster again on Tuesday morning (8 a.m.–12 p.m.) in the Sensory Motor Systems poster session, board W13 ✨@SfNtweets@sheacshl
Excited to share that I received #Sfn2025’s Professional Trainee Development Award!
Check out my poster M9 “Dopamine dynamics in the nucleus accumbens during maternal behavior in postpartum and virgin CBA/CaJ mice” tonight at the Early Career Development Session, 6:45–8:45 p.m
Happy to share our paper creating an atlas of the dendritic morphology of D1- and D2-MSNs and elucidating its organizational principle. Thanks to Chris Park, Ming Yan, Masood Akram, Hongwei Dong, Daniel Tward, and others. Funding from US BRAIN Initiative. https://t.co/XSXYykc3yb
Early postnatal developmental atlas (epDevAtlas) for the mouse brain has been published. https://t.co/TZ18ljRtRB High definition brain growth charts with GABAergic neurons and microglia highlight spatially distinct emergency of key cell types.
In this recent paper, maternal separation stress produced dysregulated noradrenergic activity in the locus coeruleus (LC) across the lifespan, which disrupted LC regulation of coping strategies in adulthood

Check out our recent study showing how to re-activate estrogen responses in originally hormone low/negative breast cancer cells! Shoutout to the amazing @DeeptimanChatt2 @CicconeMichael @anandan_dhivyaa! https://t.co/jL6kNPDHuD
Super excited to share this new collaborative work - marmosets use diverse and highly flexible strategies when they cooperate. These strategies are powerfully determined by both social factors (sex, dominance, familiarity) & individual partner identity. https://t.co/YPwyAfarhf
New work from our lab demonstrates that when contingencies shift from punishment to reward, flexible behavior is related to increases in VTA GABA (and not dopamine!) neuron activity 👉 https://t.co/cRqL6J6CE8
