@Chudtrooper420@memeslich If everything interesting about your character begins and ends with his race, you should play a human and read a book featuring humans. Like Frankenstein, or The Count of Monte Cristo.
Race ≠ personality
@Bruwulf@Wizards_DnD I basically said the same thing.
Sell to your audience, not to people who hate you. Make it easy for us to spend money, rather than wanting us to go dig out the old books and relive the better days.
@BDEgameowners To be fair, do the other formats matter? I mean, if we’re talking magic, we’re talking commander. Who actually talks about the other formats?
@OGRealmWalkers I run games 3 times a week usually… my buddy was DMing, but has since stepped down for personal reasons… 4-5 sessions seems about right.
I’ve given up on being a player.
@PascalMaynard What’s the deal here? Is this like a standard joke or something? So many commons at legendary?
I guess you put 4 in your deck, then leave Bilbo in exile until your current one dies?
@HubPointless Collectively, we need to spend less time worrying about the directors and more time criticizing the writers.
IMO actors do what directors say, directors lean on the script. Bad writing kills a movie before bad directing or bad acting.
I *HATE* paid GMs. They are just grifting off of people who are either in a position where they are having a hard time finding a game or are so socially awkward that they do not feel comfortable trying to. No GM I have ever played with was so good that I thought "Damn, now I should pay them $20 for the pleasure!" I have been playing D&D for 33 years and GMing for at least 20. Never have I been tempted to ask for money or desired to pay someone else to do it. The greed and ego it takes to think you are so great that you deserve money to have people engage a hobby is beyond dishonest. It is dirty, stupid, and above all, greedy. If you are having a hard time finding a game, check out forums, Discord chats, VTT groups, and other locations. There is a person out there that will take you in, and never charge you a dime.
We should do this:
Levels 1-4 is your character’s backstory.
You don’t have a history until you make it.
If you’re going to give me this much content, it better be about your father. And hopefully you’re around enough to matter as much as he did, apparently.
@UltraTtrpger@Nerdcognito I agree with this generally speaking. OSR has the players actually RPing with the referee, rather than saying they do and rolling a dice.
When it comes to D&D, we should encourage gameplay that gets players to look up, away from their character sheets.
@BDEgameowners Can the damage option come first so I don’t spend 30 minutes stacking my deck just to shuffle?
“When you cast this spell, any opponent may take 5 damage. If they do, counter this spell.
Scry 100. Draw a card.”
@thoughtxriot Just give him Regenerate. What the heck? Maybe even a neat option:
RG: Regenerate
Whenever Wolverine regenerates, he fights target creature.
