I lean to the right on political issues.
A month ago, I was driving though Sussex at 30 mph.
A Ford Transit van travelling at about 50 mph on my side of the road suddenly filled my windscreen. With about a second or so before head-on impact, I forced the car to the left and was struck heavily on the driver's side. Happily, I drive a Volvo. Almost any other car and I would not be typing now.
The van driver, without checking for injury to me or damage to my car, then sped off and left the scene of the accident. The incident was witnessed another driver who set off in pursuit to get the details of the van and driver. I checked for any injuries and damage to the mechanical functioning of the car and followed him.
We caught up with the van driver a mile and a half away, in slow traffic and convinced him to hand over his details.
I reported this incident fully to @sussex_police. They apparently consider dangerous driving and leaving the scene of a serious accident 'anti-social driving' and, so far, no action or statements have been taken, from the witness or me.
This surely cannot be right. How on earth are we expecting to deter and prevent this sort of potentially lethal behaviour, if these incidents are not subjected to the full rigour of the law?
NORTH SEA: KILLED BY NET ZERO
BP to sell its North Sea oil business. Who can blame them?
Taxed to death by Tories. Choked by Miliband. While importing Norwegian oil FROM THE SAME FIELD…
For the U.K. to prosper Net Zero must die! https://t.co/b9tb8ccvay

To all the Supermarkets and big commercial stores that operate 'Self Check-outs'....... You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now. Yesterday I went shopping at one such store and the lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone.
I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already filled my trolly, emptied my trolly and scanned the items, refilled my trolly and so I just skipped the exit line and left.
I heard her saying "Umm - Excuse me “ as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store.
You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be.
• I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you.
• If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that's your problem not mine.
• Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities.
YOU DON'T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING.
YOU DON’T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU.
Signed ......All of us
People we need to share this statement its basically about PROFIT to the stores AND putting People out of a JOB....!!!
🚨 JEREMY CLARKSON BLASTS ANDY BURNHAM FOR APPOINTING ANGELA EAGLE TO RUN THE COUNTRYSIDE.
Jeremy Clarkson has just hit the nail on the head regarding the absolute state of Labour's approach to British farming.
Growing food in Britain is becoming financially impossible.
Clarkson was forced to leave 200 acres of his own farm completely empty this year because planting wheat or barley guarantees a heavy loss!
And how does Andy Burnham respond to struggling British farmers? He appoints Angela Eagle as Environment Secretary! 🤡
A career politician who has never worked on a farm and has never run a business in her entire life.
As Clarkson rightly said, putting Angela Eagle in charge of the countryside is like putting Alan Carr in charge of the British Army!
Our Westminster elite are actively crushing British agriculture with Net Zero red tape, insane energy bills, and family farm taxes. They would rather import cheap foreign produce than protect the hardworking British families who keep this country fed.
How can a politician with zero real world farming or business experience dictate the future of our rural economy?
SHARE this everywhere to stand with British farmers! 🇬🇧🔥
- You: "Who audits the central bank?"
- Government: "It has internal oversight."
- You: "It audits itself?"
- Government: "With the highest standards."
- You: "Can I audit myself on my tax return?"
- Government: "That's called fraud."
- You: "Why?"
- Government: "You'd have an incentive to lie."
- You: "..."
- Government: "You're not an economist."
The last overseas shearers Britain intends to let in are on the fells right now, working out the final weeks of their leave.
The door shut on 30 June. No vote, no debate, no announcement, just a date passing quietly in a summer when everyone was looking elsewhere. Those still working the Borders this week are here on leave that expires on 1 October, and when they fly out that is the end of it.
Understand what is walking out.
Six New Zealanders spent three months in one Northumberland valley last year and sheared nearly 90,000 sheep. Fifteen thousand head each, across farms from the Scottish Borders down to County Durham. They have been coming into Coquetdale for over thirty years. Since 2011 a concession has let up to 75 of them in each spring, and between them they take the wool off one and a half to two million British sheep in a window a few weeks long.
The Home Office rejected the application on 2 February. Twenty-six days of farmers writing to their MPs got it reinstated on 10 March for one final year, with a line about the sector having had fourteen years to train British workers and now being expected to transition to domestic labour.
Here is what that sentence is standing on. British Wool trains over 800 people a year, most of those courses are basic level, and most of the people on them are sheep farmers learning to do their own flock. Training was never the bottleneck. A top shearer clears a ewe in two or three minutes, calm hands, no panic in the animal, hundreds a day for weeks on end, and reaching that standard takes years of conditioning and a place in a global trade that follows the season around the planet.
Fourteen million breeding ewes. A few weeks to do them all. A sheep left in fleece gets eaten alive by maggots, so the job is not optional and the date is not negotiable.
Next spring those farms make phone calls that nobody answers.
Seventy-five shearers, once a year, and a government that could not find room for them.
Wait wait dont tell me....
1) It gets mothballed for 10 years
2) It will be discovered by someone that it was actually a very good thing for Britain to have
3) It will be discovered that when it was shut everything has been corroded and nobody can remember how the software works
4) It will be scrapped
5) A new one will be built in its place for 100x the cost of just maintaining the old one for another 50 years.
🚨 WHY did Manchester City Council approve a lease for the exact Heron House suite now used as No.10 North on 10th June 2026?
Andy Burnham wasn’t even an MP until the Makerfield by-election on 18th June.
He didn’t become Prime Minister until 20th July.
So why was the temporary headquarters for “No.10 North” being signed off weeks before he was even elected to Parliament?
How does a serving Mayor “know” he’s about to win a by-election, get parachuted into the leadership, and be crowned PM within weeks — unless the entire sequence was already locked in?
If you’re not asking these questions, you’re choosing not to see it:
The by-election was engineered.
The MPs who voted him in were already aligned.
The system was primed and ready.
Burnham wasn’t elected into No.10. He was placed.

'Barking mad'
The green party want to force all dog owners to hold a 'dog licence'.
What does this mean?
This means that anyone who wants to keep a pet dog would be required to apply for a licence with their local council.
-If that council did not want you to have a dog, no licence,
-If that council thought there was too many dogs in the area, no licence.
-If your neighbour, or the mosque down the road didn't want you to have a dog and complained to the council, no licence.
-If that council thought everyone should only have one dog each, no additional licence.
-If that council didn't approve of your choice of breed, no licence.
Your basic right to keep a pet dog, decided by a council, for a fee of course.
Ultimate control, hidden in animal rights wrapping paper.

To reiterate, on a £5 pint, over £2 is made up in taxes.
The publican is left with around 15p profit.
That is what needs addressing.
Pubs can’t be Government cash cows any longer, they’re dying.
@Sacha_Lord@andyburnham
John Healey, "It doesn't solve the cost of living but it does indicate that we're offering a bit of help, we're offering a bit of hope"
£45 saved on energy VAT is 12p a day
Martin Lewis, "So you've got £45 coming off bills, but £25 going onto bills. So on 1 October, it's looking like the actual saving over six months would be £20"
Andy Burnham is set to announce a 20% cut to business rates for hospitality venues within days. This will significantly help the hospitality industry. Now do the same for farmers and scrap the inheritance tax on family farms. Support British farmers.
@andyburnham
…Today is a day I never wanted to see. I am absolutely heartbroken to hear of the passing of Kevin Keegan. Kevin wasn’t just a football manager to me—he was the man who introduced me to the Premier League and made me fall in love with the beautiful city of Newcastle…
#NUFC really need to get their arses in gear and turn around this constant wave of negativity in terms of our summer transfer business. The fanbase are rapidly losing faith and it's totally justified.
🚨 BREAKING: EVEN THE WHITE HOUSE IS "DEEPLY CONCERNED" BY ED MILIBAND.
The US administration has just leaked that Miliband being appointed Foreign Secretary is going to be a massive "point of friction" because of his radical green obsession.
Of course they would be! He is the absolute worst.
This is the exact same eco-zealot who championed the insane Net Zero policies that are currently bankrupting British working class families and completely crushing our manufacturing. 🤡
Instead of defending British security and standing up for our national interests on the world stage, this unelected puppet is going to use the Foreign Office as his own taxpayer-funded Greenpeace branch!
Andy Burnham is actively turning our country into a global laughing stock on day one!
RT if you are completely sick of these green extremists destroying our country and demand a General Election NOW! 🇬🇧🔥
