Trump is now happening so the answer to this problem lies in rebuilding trade with Europe - research shows brexit accounts about a £23 billion quarterly hit to UK exports. Join us in @labour4europe fighting to address this and for our future prosperity https://t.co/JG7vh5760v
@HeleneBismarck Wetting myself laughing at this appointment!
As a defence minister Mark Francois will, presumably, have to stand next to some actual soldiers, for photos and whatnot.
I can't guarantee I won't laugh then, either.
@Lookinupatstars Exactly like Farage did on referendum day.
The idea is to make waverers think they don't need to vote Dem now as it's a forgone conclusion.
It's the same playbook. Let's hope the Americans are rather more awake to it than we were.
@harris_wins This was exactly the way the Brexiters played it after the EU referendum. The goal was to soften the for the 'Remain' position.
'Leave' won by 52% to 48%.
Don't be fooled. Vote.
@RobWilliams100 We often talk about how cruel and inhumane radical right governments are.
What we don't discuss so much, is just how breathtakingly stupid, reckless and and incompetent they are.
@jzellis Frustrating that people can't / won't join the dots on these weather events. France just had its 4th once-in-100yrs flood in less than 10 months. Those 'unprecedented' Cat-5-in-a-matter-of-hours cyclones have been happening regularly since Katrina, 20yrs ago. We've been warned.
@stellacreasy@JolyonMaugham Agree.
We also need broadcasters to stop platforming absolute dinosaurs like Christopher Chope. He is just a reactionary gob on a stick and does not understand the modern world.
Who cares Sam? Do we really think Yvette Cooper is in any way corrupt? We are such a small minded country in these ways…. As a journalist I took far bigger freebies so do most people in the media….all the time….
The Brexit border tax hasn’t just hit food imports and pushed up prices - it also means British farmers face problems getting seeds and with checks being patchy it does little to maintain our food security. Join us in @labour4europe campaigning to end this madness!
@Bkasparas@vanmaneuro It's like the lorry queues all over again! Remember the M20 cameras were turned off?
We are a state still in denial; all in vain. One day the irresistible force of school holiday traffic will run into the immovable object that is ETIAS.
And there'll be no hiding THAT
sh!tshow.
@vanmaneuro It has to be this way, Ciaran.
I posted earlier that the more ridiculous we are made to look and feel, the sooner it will change. This, sadly, is an inevitable part of the process.
We must be humiliated out of our Brexit daze.
@Bkasparas@vanmaneuro Exactly this.
We're still going to travel to the mainland if we have to sit there for days. Children will be taken out of school, and fines paid, to avoid the worst of it, but we'll all still go.
Sad truth: the more ridiculous we feel, the sooner it will change.
@vanmaneuro@martindvz Half term is going to be amazing....
They might have to book some bands / children's entertainers etc at Eurotunnel.
It just has to change, Ciaran. We can't stay this ridiculous forever!
