When Naipoki gave birth, she brought her son Nsimba home, back to the place where she was raised.

While Naipoki settled in to feed, Nsimba lay down beside her and slept – the way calves do when their mothers have brought them somewhere safe.

Naipoki was rescued in December 2010 from a well in Samburu, around two months old. Fifteen years on, she is living wild, and Nsimba is her first calf.

The place that gave her a life is the first place she wanted to show him.
