@pauljames1968 Yes Paul - agree with you here
He made us much more competitive tonight, particularly the Centre bounces where we have been getting smashed
You sort of saw what the future can be if Bryan can get a good run at it
Tsatas had some obvious flaws tonight without the ball
Tsatas bro! I’ve been screaming for you but now that you’re in you gotta run both ways a get a tackle! In tight with the ball you’re a jet but you need to get physical without the ball!! ❤️🖤
@ealesy05 Yeah the contrast between his endeavour when the ball is to be won or when he has the ball against this situation and general chasing is too big. I love him but It’s impossible to not see the deficiencies
@RonnyLerner Ronny I think you can put Tsatas on that list after tonight
Just don't love his work without the ball way too much jogging alongside
He's talented no doubt about it but can kinda understand the knocks Scott had
Might be an elite VFL footballer and that's his thing
Not too sure what to make of Elijah Tsatas tonight
Stats say pretty good and he was
But plenty to not like without the ball- there's was a lot of jogging alongside whilst his opponent goes past for an easy ball
You can kinda understand the knocks Scott had on him
Kane Cornes on this story:
"This is a selfish footy club…let the group get on with it. It’s not about you anymore, you have left and you have had your time...It’s everything wrong with the Essendon footy club summed up it one article."

Just further to my last post on the Essendon coaching job, I understand the lure of Hird's return for Essendon fans (I am one). But in a hypothetical choice between him & John Longmire, I honestly don't see how you can possibly argue he's a better candidate, given Longmire's 63pc W/L over 300+ games, 5 GFs, a couple of successful refurbishments of the Swans, and his constantly vouched-for integrity and strength of character. I honestly can't think of a better-credentialled coach for what would be a mammoth task.
As for the "needs an Essendon person" theory, it shouldn't need saying (but clearly does) that...
(A) "Essendon people" (not just in the coaches box) have caused a lot of the club's grief these past two decades. Perhaps the perspective of a proven coach from a consistently successful and well-run club might be the way to go?
(B) Developing emerging talent and winning games of football creates momentum and passion of its own at ANY club, and...
(C) A certain Kevin Sheedy was a Richmond playing great who had no official connection at all with Essendon (other than following them as a kid).
Anyway, just some passing thoughts right now, I'm sure there'll be more as the soap opera that is the EFC continues.
Hird loyalists really be like you can’t hold his 2015 results against him but please do take his doping years as concrete evidence of his ability to coach
look i think james hird needs to answer for his crimes as much as anyone but i'm not sure we can just have footy clubs abducting a dude and interrogating them for 48-168 hours
Whatever your opinion of The drugs saga and his direct role in it. He was head coach and therefore not just responsible but accountable for what happened.
He should’t be allowed to be in charge of that many young men again. Careers were destroyed due to his negligence.
The numbers don't lie. James Hird says Justin Longmuir has built a genuine premiership blueprint at Fremantle.
Agree with Hirdy? Let us know in the comments.
Hird who oversaw an illegal doping program that set the club back 10 years, and has not been a head or assistant coach in the 10 years since (Im aware of his current vfl consultancy role), to coach Essendon again. What could go wrong?
