Current FSU doctoral student and GWU proud alum, "Leadership should be born out of the understanding of the needs of those affected by it." M. Anderson
My oldest son is a grad assistant at a university in MO and as of today very sick with COVID-19. Thanksgiving 2020 might be better spent away from in-person gatherings to help minimize community spread. This is a lethal virus for many.

Xenophobia is a learned ignorance. As an educator I can choose to model ways our schools can be safe places for students to learn how to think while embracing student agency, tolerance, in the absence of hate.

Harvard rescinding an incoming freshman’s admission should cause all educators to consider the urgency to articulate to students the importance of an equitable society INSTEAD OF repeated verbal warnings to think before you post anything - realign priorities @educationweek
The vast majority of high school students understand the power of language and Mr. Kashuv’s public actions at the age of 16 are an affront to the mission and purpose of Harvard College @thecrimson
Kashuv’s announcement included embedded emails he exchanged with administrators and a letter from Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid William R. Fitzsimmons ’67 informing him of Harvard’s decision to rescind his place in the Class of 2023. https://t.co/bT4vso8QkA
Finally watched Precious Knowledge @AriPalos Every aspiring educator should too! Our nation’s fastest growing population are children US born from non-English speaking households.
Grateful to Dr. Pamela Mason for sharing her research last fall which has resonated ever since concerning teachers’ literacy selections as a conduit for disrupting the hurtful stereotypes of the same groups for generations.
