@ericvideos91 Canada can deal with this in two ways: focus on improving productivity and allow property values to truly represent the income of Canadians. Both the government and the people have chosen to do neither.
@acoyne People are afraid to bet against Musk because they know his cult has enough followers to move the market. They are in until it blows up in their faces.
@acoyne Trump is proof that the American financial system is pretty resilient. There is almost zero upward mobility, working class people are dead broke, but the markets are still on a tear. Trump has tried to beat the ๐ฉ out of the economy with tariffs, crony capitalism and war..
@DD4867@acoyne Yes. Government trying to solve problems of racism and corporate destruction without dealing with the actual problems. Today, corporations continue to control America and racism is on the rise. Both very expensive problems to have.
@DD4867@acoyne America's fate was sealed with the Vietnam war. That they had to abandon the gold standard and then do a backdoor deal with Saudi Arabia to keep the dollar afloat says it all. In today's dollars, that war cost over $1 Trillion versus $188 Billion for Ukraine. Ukraine is nothing.
@jasonjamesbnn@village_whisper That must be why there are no American stores or American products on the shelves in Canada. Oh wait, American garbage is everywhere in Canada, you dolt!
