Fantastic visit from Aberdeen FC Legend Neil Simpson yesterday to fit in with our Newmachar topic. Neil spoke to the children about his life growing up in Newmachar, led some football matches and signed plenty of Dons memorabilia. @MacharNew

As part of our introduction to looking at the topic of "Weight" in maths, children were tasked to compare two classroom objects and predict which one is heavier. To test their predictions they learned how to make correct use of weighing scales. @MacharNew

Last week whilst the P4's were at swimming the P5's learned to make refreshing Orange and Mango smoothies. All children really enjoyed this activity and are learning to read recipes and follow instructions.@MacharNew

In maths we are learning about measurement. We took our learning outdoors to measure our shadows as well as calculating the area of the multi purpose court which is 1188 square metres. @MacharNew

Well done to these two stars who took part in the Primary Engineer Project! Their shoebox car model design won first place in a local authority wide competition! @MacharNew

In the last week of term to finish off our Rainforest focus we made our own “Rainforest fruit smoothies”. Children enjoyed preparing the ingredients, measuring the correct quantities and of course drinking them! @MacharNew

This afternoon we learned some basic racket skills in tennis with P1FB. We incorporated these skills into fun relay games with excellent teamwork being demonstrated. Well done everyone for working so well together! @MacharNew
