A little bit of the Northern Lights coloring the skies tonight as seen from Walnut Creek, Ca. The beacon is lit for Veteran’s Day atop Mount Diablo as the Aurora Borealis brushes the night sky next to it.

They are back! A tarantula makes its way across a trail inside the Walnut Creek Open Space at Shell Ridge.

According to the USGS the 4.3 earthquake this morning places the epicenter coordinates in Berkely, Ca. Google map places the quake near Cal Berkeley’s Memorial Stadium. USGS puts the depth at 7.8 km. (4.8 miles)

At 3am, a quick thunderstorm rolls through Borger, Texas. Who can sleep through these? Not me.

Whoa! SpaceX CRS-32 also known as Dragon set to splash down near Oceanside, Ca. after delivering 6700 lbs. of supplies to the International Space Station on April 21.

The waxing crescent #moon seen setting next to the silhouette of Mt. Tamalpais in #Marin County. The mountain has an elevation of 2,579 feet and according to Wikipedia is created by the San Andreas fault where the North American and Pacific tectonic plates come together.

After the rain cleared from yesterday, all that remains is droplets on spider webs, leaves and fallen acorns in the Walnut Creek Open Space at Shell Ridge. A White-crowned Sparrow watches over a field of tall grass, selecting its next stalk to harvest for seeds.

During my morning run along a trail in the Walnut Creek Open Space, I came across this intrepid silent hunter in the woods. The Great Horned Owl. 🦉

The Tsuchinshan-Atlas comet soared over the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin County. If you miss it, it will be back in 80k years.

Got a touch of the Aurora Borealis as seen from Walnut Creek, Ca. Mt. Diablo can been seen with a light splash of the Northern Lights, but hard to make out due to light pollution from the city.

I’ve been to @AceHardware in Walnut Creek, they were very helpful. Purchased 2 bolts that were close. But not quite factory. Still moves in place. Too short or too long. Ideas? Help? Seems like a waste of money and resources to buy a whole new shifter set just because of a bolt?

I have been riding an awesome @IbisCycles mojo for about a year. A recent ride, my @ShimanoMTB slx 12 speed shifter drops a bolt. The one that holds the shifter and keeps it from rocking when you shift. My local bike store reaches out to Shimano and is told I’m on my own. 1/2

Stumbled across the wildest and noisiest thing in the dry grass. It appeared to be two rattlesnakes either fighting or procreating in the tall dried plants. They both were wrapping around each other in vertical stances. It was amazing. Look carefully, you can see 2 sets of eyes.
