Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, India has built a stronger economic foundation over the past decade through manufacturing incentives, digital public infrastructure and financial inclusion. The United States, meanwhile, continues to lead in advanced research, innovation ecosystems, and high-end technology development. The global economy is entering a transformative phase. Supply-chain realignments, rapid advances in artificial intelligence, and intensifying geopolitical competition have made it clear that national growth will increasingly depend not only on domestic policies but also on strategic partnerships. In this context, India’s Make in India initiative and the United States’ America First policy should be viewed not as competing agendas, but as potentially complementary frameworks.

Thanking Mr. Jagan Chapagain for inviting me to Geneva (SWITZERLAND)at the headquarters of the (IFRC)
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. As the first Asian to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General, he is leading the world’s largest humanitarian network through its 191 National Societies across the globe.
What truly stands out about your personality is that you are calm, humble, and genuinely down-to-earth despite carrying such global responsibility. Your leadership reflects deep empathy combined with strategic clarity. You consistently emphasize humanity over headlines, local empowerment over centralization, and long-term resilience over short-term visibility.
It is inspiring to see such steady, values-driven leadership guiding humanitarian work worldwide.
