Received a stack of thank-yous from students today. Key words mentioned: trust, caring, life lessons, pushing me. But the one that stood out- “thank you for always saying hi to me in the hall”, from a student who never says “hi” back. - Kindness is easy to show and always wins!

When the class tribes are split on Ralph’s decisions in Lord of the Flies, it calls for an impromptu debate. “You ready? You ready? Let’s get it on!” These ladies brought it as they challenged each other and thought critically about the opposing view. Love what I do!

Prepping to read “The Lord of the Flies”. Students broke into tribes and imagined being plane wrecked on a deserted island. Meanwhile... I walked around and wrote down items that wash ashore while they plan survival. I even included a few random injuries. We had a blast!!!
