@HDouglas83 @FreddieandHD one way to reduce the impact of raiding mid-majors is a 3 year contract (4th school option, with escalators) that an other school has to buy them out of. Think the transfer market in European football.
You want the QB, that is 6 figures to buy him out.

The future for NCAA players are 3 year contracts with a 4th year option for the school. If Duke wants your star, they will have to buy them out. Much like the transfer market in soccer. Small schools need to be paid for their development.

When one asks "are you better off now than 4 years ago?" then they need to be clear when recalling conditions from 4 years ago, not some make-believe where everything was great.
