This was the moment ⬇️ I realized “love is love” puts children in danger. Groomers use this to manipulate kids.
We often hear a phrase or hashtag that sounds catchy or harmless, but we cannot adopt as a belief system 🛑
“Lies so clever they sound like the truth” Ephesians 4:14

Thank you to our PTA & to @mandymajors w/Next Talk for a wonderful evening of conversation and support, as we work together to keep kids safe online.
The podcast we released today at our nonprofit is with Maurine Molak — currently at this hearing.
Listen to her story about why she fights to keep kids safe online & why she advocated for phone-free schools in Texas:

In a recent @nextTalkOrg podcast, one mom shares how she saved her son from an online predator.
🌟 The standout moment?
When she realized: "I can’t control technology. But what I have a say in is my kid’s heart."
Don't miss her story! https://t.co/sBcOybh2GZ
We got news that we lost another teen boy this week to the exact same scheme and our whole @nextTalkOrg team has been devastated. We’ve been posting Walker’s story again. It feels like it can never reach as many parents as it needs to. Awareness = prevention
So thankful for the work you all are doing on KOSA. Maurine and Brian keep us updated 🥹
ParentsSOS member Brian Montgomery spoke to the @nextTalkOrg podcast about his son Walker, forever 16, who died by suicide after being sextorted over social media by predators.
Congress must introduce and #PassKOSA this year!

Summer social media posts can make us feel bad for not going on a fancy vacation. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the blessings of vacations & material things (of course not!), but never lose sight — what kids need most is for us to be present & invested in their daily life.
Because of technology, we need to shift how we talk to our kids about stranger danger.
Strangers are now entering our homes through gaming devices like Xbox and apps like Roblox and Discord.
No secrets!
Predators often use this to test kids. It may start out with something like cussing or giving your kids a small taste of alcohol. When groomer says, “Don’t tell your parents” & child keeps the secret, it’s a green light for the predator to do more with your kid.
Juneteenth presents a great opportunity to talk to our kids about the value of each life, the sin of racism & the gift of freedom.
It’s been reported that celebrations quickly erupted among churches bc prayers of freedom were answered. We can only imagine the shouts of praise!
