Jayden Adams' partner breaks silence after his death

The partner of late Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams, Aqueelah Adendorf, has broken her silence following the footballer's tragic death.

Adams passed away on Saturday at the age of 25. His death was confirmed by Mamelodi Sundowns, SAFA, the PSL, Nike, Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Tributes poured in from across the football world, highlighting the impact Adams had on teammates, supporters, and the wider football community.

A minute's silence was observed before England's 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Norway in his honour. Adams had just returned from the FIFA World Cup, where he featured in three of Bafana Bafana's four group-stage matches before their campaign ended in the Round of 32 against Canada.

Just hours before his passing, Adams shared a heartfelt message to Adendorf on his Instagram story. Following his death, Adendorf posted an emotional tribute.

"There are no words to describe the pain I'm feeling. Rest in peace, my love. Thank you for every memory, every laugh, every hug, and every moment we shared. You were not only the love of my life but also my greatest supporter and my best friend. A part of my heart left with you, and I will carry your love with me forever. Until we meet again, I'll miss you every single day. Rest easy, my angel. I love you always and forever," she wrote.

She also thanked everyone for their support during the difficult time. "Thank you all so much for your kind condolences and messages of support. They truly mean a lot to me and Allaia during this difficult time. I appreciate every message, even if I haven't responded yet. I will get back to everyone as soon as I can. Thank you for your understanding and kindness."
