Very proud and happy to welcome school number 20 to our Trust, and the fourth new school we’ve opened in 5 1/2 years. West Riding Academy officially opened on 1 April 2026, a new special school we have co-constructed with Barnsley Council.

In Humanities, Year 9 have been learning about the environment and animals that live in the Arctic. Students have studied how different animals adapt to their climates such as behavioural and physical. Students created their own animal they thought could adapt to the cold.
