The German Federal Foreign Office / @GermanyDiplo and @PoliSync piloted blockchain-based USDC aid payments to Damascus, Syria, through @HesabPay_, using Algorand as the settlement layer.
Results from the pilot:
• Up to 73% lower transaction costs
• Payments were 42x faster
• Greater transparency across the payment flow
A strong example of blockchain infrastructure improving humanitarian aid payments in complex environments.
@RanterSR7@Algorand@StellarOrg Smart contracts didn't exist on stellar until mid 2024 so nfts and other smart contract tech are not really a thing. All consumer level stuff like that or wallets is way less developed than in the Algorand ecosystem, but they do have a protocol native DEX built in to the network
@LoafPickle So the $tiny ASA id 2200000000 was either a coincidence, or intentionally minted as the 2200000000th txn?
I had always wondered about ASA ids
The EU recently confirmed that by 2027, every battery, textile, and electronic device sold in Europe will need a verifiable Digital Product Passport.
The infrastructure to support this at scale already exists on Algorand.
Companies like Repsol, Thai Union, Estée Lauder, and Lavazza are using it today.
A thread on who's building it 🧵
@DoubleDip88@LegionHoops@spotrac Anyone can get hurt. He takes care of his body more than most players. Plus he's basically been playing for free the past two years and is due some back pay.
@DamienPetersNBA A lot riding on performances from OG and Kat imo. We don't have the right speed/size combo for those two. Should see Bryant getting more minutes. Hope he can keep his head straight.
