Pope John Paul II stated “Divine Mercy reaches human beings through the heart of Christ crucified.” Thus, today focuses on the mercy gotten from Christ's passion.

The promise of forgiveness has been reaffirmed, so there's no need to wallow in guilt.

God has assured us repeatedly that He is with us. He protects us so much that, even when we die, we are not lost to the power of death. Our life continues in heaven until Christ returns to give us our immortal bodies. God is always faithful.
