@vjsingh102@dcinvestor Makes sense, that’s why price inflation is typically measured against a basket of goods. I think further up thread there was some conflating of the two concepts wrt ETH/deflation
@vjsingh102@dcinvestor It’s important to make the distinction between monetary inflation: the supply of tokens/dollars/etc, and price inflation: the value of those tokens relative to other “fixed” stores of value. They are not the same, and often not correlated.
I still cannot believe that the community accepted the “we were such edgelords the Supreme Court got involved” excuse for JF. Y’all know better than that.
@CapetainTrippy Because a McRib trading card is like the “dad offering you weed” of NFTs. It’s lazy, misses the point, and is a transparent grab for relevance.
How many blue chip NFT PFPs can there be? Of course demand determines this, but what do price curves look like when the market approaches 5 or 10 million participants? I think cars is a useful model, since utility after the first diminishes and the market range is Kia to Bugatti
@blockofgenesis @SDfromthelou@hunterorrell This is misleading… you can reduce cap gains by any amount via tax loss harvesting (and they’re bucketed by type but spillover etc.) the $3000 is how much you can reduce your income after you’ve wiped all your cap gains
Twitter verification of NFTs and the evolution of the microbrand: If twitter verifies PFP ownership and then a whale like @punk6529 sells it, should they include the twitter account and it's followers as part of the sale? If so then the grails with twitter are about to be massive
