Some thoughts on the current sentiment in the art space.
We will fail if we don’t find a way to connect with the traditional art world. The hype we’ve seen in recent years didn’t come from a sudden wave of undiscovered talent emerging out of nowhere. It came from speculation. Many collectors (though not all) are not art connoisseurs but investors. Investors don’t necessarily have the time, knowledge, or even interest in supporting an artist long-term. They buy art to make a profit. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but these are not the people who will push the art community forward or carry its message into the world.
That responsibility falls on us, the artists. And it’s a much slower process than the short-lived X-world would have us believe. Success isn’t just one sale away. There’s no single post that will make us world-famous. I believe it takes years of work and relationships that go beyond a quick DM.
I don’t know if I’m right, but I do think we should focus more on the bigger picture—local art associations, publications, magazines, open calls. We need to use every platform and teach everyday people that art on the blockchain can be the future of art itself.
I also want to acknowledge that we do have incredible advocates in this space, people who have done and continue to do amazing things for the community. But expecting them to steer the ship for all of us is too much to ask.
English isn’t my first language, so I hope my thoughts come across the way I intend.

Time passes quickly. That's why sometimes it's good to take action instead of waiting.
